Compensation for fire alarm

What kind of compensation should I ask for after being woken up 3 times by a fire alarm on the same night (for a false alarm) at 1am, 2am and again 3am.

Each time alarm went off for several minutes then voice made loud announcement through the speakers announcing it was a false alarm.

After 3am I couldn't go back to sleep.
No a word of apology from the front desk staff or GM.

This was at The Lexington Hotel in NYC. And I've stayed there 3 times already this year.

Try the corporate.

I would have mentioned it at check-out and if they don't offer anything then I'll let it go - unless they owe me the PAG and some other things.

Just be thankful it wasnt what am I owed for no fire alarm going off when there in fact was a fire

Id say comp will be based on what trigger the alarm/s and if any of them were the hotels fault, if it was out of the hotels hands then We are really sorry, would be more then enough

Compensation should depend upon the cause of the false alarms. If they were tripped by an unruly guest, then there's not much they can do. If it was due to a faulty system, then they should offer some compensation. A discussion that morning with the FDM would definitely be in order.

On a side note, is the lounge open? If so, how is it?

You've not given us enough information to help you... or redicule you. :D

1,2 & 3 a.m.? I'd ask them to comp the night.

I stayed at an autograph collection hotel in orlando in december, and there was a wedding happening there at the time. One of the maids of honor got drunk and pulled the fire alarm at 4am one day. It sucks, but it happens.

nothing... fire alarms are emergency mechanisms. has your fire alarm never beeped with a dead battery before at your own home?

If it was a fault of the alarm or computer system, I'd expect some points in my MR account. If it was some kid playing with the alarm system or a guest "burning the evidence" in his room, nothing much the hotel can do about that.

Why on earth would you spend the time posting here and not spent the time between 3am ( when you could not sleep ) and check out, to discuss with Hotel management ?

Because it is wise to get a few opinions and be prepared before you meet the hotel management?

You must be joking and/or delusional. You expected to hear from the hotel between the hours of 3am and 7am?

And why are you asking us? Why don't you just ask what the front desk what the cause for the disturbances was and we they will do for you.

Triangulate findings from similar situations by others before approaching the hotel management (either at check-out, or after-the-fact).

I guarantee that the skeleton crew on at 3am were trying to figure out/resolve the alarm situation. The last time that this happened to me, I asked the front desk what happened and, then, asked to be comped breakfast for my party of 4. Since I was nice about it, the agent willingly granted the request and I saved about $60 on breakfast.
