I missed your long post on various quotes.
OK, I missed the "graciously acknowledging the error" post. Apology. Flyertalk is serious business. |
This post is hilarious. Repeatedly says `was not a Marriott`, but no explanation of why that is or is not the case. Did it have a Hilton or Motel 6 sign on the driveway? Then it would certainly be "not a Marriott". lol

TO BE FAIR ....examples of other posts by irockfm2
Posted in the US forum: ...I went to check in online and I just saw my account....I'm new to this game I only needed 19 to get to the next level. Does that mean I have to start all over?... And in the Practical Travel Safety Issues Forum... This happened to my at LGA, DCA, & JFK 2 weeks ago. I pulled out my laptop, but when they asked "who's bag is this" they took out my GPS and re-ran the bag again. I asked the lady why since only computers are to be taken out and she said "heightened security" First time I thought it was a fluke, but then 2 more times that week. Has this happened to you? We are talking SUPER NEWBIE here, so maybe we could all cut irockfm2 a little slack? NOTE- I wasn't even aware there WAS a Practical Travel and Safety Forum, shame on me. |

No offense intended by me (or hopefully anyone else), but FT is a community which has conversations about a variety of situations, AND also CRAVES and THRIVES on information.
...and you return to your postings at least twice per day to see if there are questions for you to answer, and you are sincere in your postings, generally, you will not have trouble here. On the flip side, if you post haphazardly, without thinking your posts through, and you post and then disappear for a day or two, you will not be happy with the reactions and results. The second I do not. Most FTers have jobs & don't have time to check their postings twice/day & there might be a day or two when they're not on at all due to work, travels, vacation, holidays, home life, illness, etc. If someone posts details when they're asking a question or telling of a situation, then they'll get detailed feedback - whether the feedback be positive or negative (positive or negative is not reliant on how often they check in). If they provide few details then it does make it harder to provide any feedback, and that's true whether the poster is a newbie or an old-timer. sophie, I think TSA forum got split into 2 sections to make it easier for topics to get handled (and for the poor mods of that forum - people do have some strong feelings about TSA ;)). To the OP - don't be scared off by the reaction in this thread. Just realize that the more details you provide the easier it is to provide information to you. Overall FT is a great website for learning more about travel & travel programs, especially when one is new either to travel or to FT. Cheers. |
Sharon, I agree with your comments to the OP about posting online, but some of the onus should be on those of us who regularly post on this board. In the past few months, the Marriott threads posters have adopted a sharper, more pointed posting style. We should make an effort to remember we were all newbies once, and many of us still occaisionally still post some accidentally boneheaded things.
CJKatl's $0.02. |

CJKatl's $0.02. And that can hold true of oldtimers. I have a question I know has been answered before but can't find it w/ FT's lousy search. I thought yesterday boy if I post this question they'll jump all over me because it's been asked/answered before; maybe I should just PM a couple of the Marriott FTers that I know are helpful & ask them via PM. Cheers. |
