Thanks - I do realise that. It's just that the CY in Brussels really takes it to extremes with the price it charges for a very ordinary meal.

How much does the CY Brussels charge for breakfast? Just out of curiosity. I'm staying at the CY in Stockholm later this week and I think they ask for about 20 Euro (180SEK) per person for b/f.
- Marriott Berlin 32 Euro - Courtyard Berlin 26 Euro - Marriott Munich 26 Euro - Courtyard Munich City Center 22 Euro - Courtyard Munich City East 24 Euro - Frankfurt Marriott 32 Euro Greetings - Dirk |
Thanks, djohannw. I never really know the breakfast prices for Marriott or Renaissance properties as I mostly use the lounge/free breakfast. However, sadly CY doesn't offer that perk.
Based on a recent visit (for breakfast only, which I ended up not paying for myself) Marriott Amsterdam charges "only" 27 Euro. |
there are exceptions............mostly here in asia ...........

My wife an I (I'm plat, she's not an MR member) were BOTH offered free breakfast at the full service Oakland Marriott City Center on a 1-night Rewards stay. It was a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant.

Based on my previous stays at Marriott properties in Asia I can second that. However, I never stayed at a Courtyard in Asia.

I think it's 22EUR at the CY in Brussels. Looking at some of those other prices, it looks like a bargain. Interesting that an earlier poster was charged at the CY in Stockholm. I've stayed there a couple of times this year and not been charged for breakfast. Swings and roundabouts...

The Brussels Marriott is not far from the Grand Place and all the restaurants including Leon. |
I have also had hotel staff to say yes on the breakfast, it will be served in the restaurant, and then taken off the bill upon checkout. However, when the staff changes that next morning, it's been difficult to get removed from the bill upon checkout.
This makes me uneasy having to argue or pursue a benefit that has been given, but now taken away due to staff changing. Moral: Weekend Breakfast is very inconsistent based upon staff, not just hotel. (It's frustrating to need to ask for the benefit it writing).:( |
