2000 Holiday Gift Catalog
I was reviewing the Holiday Gift Catalog where Marriott Points can be redeemed for various merchandise. The merchandise are first rate such as a Sony 27" FD Trinitron Wega TV for 165,000 Marriott Points. This can be reviewed also under

Are these merchandise actually worth the Marriott Points?

Aloha,
Unless you don't want to travel - No Way. At 155K points, you can redeem for 2 R.T. anywhere in the world plus 7 nights at a Marriott. The two R.T., say from N.Y. to Sydney would go for $3500. The 7 nights could go for $1000 or more, depending on location (you can split these if you want).
I'm sure you could get a much better deal on the Sony at Best Buys or Circuit City!

What is the 155K reward? At the web site the only thing I could find was a 200K point "Choice Package Reward" code 713.

As a matter of information, although it's hard to be precise without the model number, TV's such as that described above go for $1000 - $1200 in NYC discount stores.

You are all absolutely right that the Holiday Gift Catalog is not nearly worth the Marriott Points. Thank you all for the reply. I did indeed go to Best Buy and get the chance to look up the value of these merchandise.
I do still believe that one of the best value for the Marriott Points is the 200K award. It never ceases to impress me regarding how much my fellow FT'ers know about everything and anything frequent flyer related. Thanks again.
