Do you mean the Marriott on Figueroa St, across the street and a bit north from the
Westin Bonaventure? It used to be a Sheraton Grande and was a nice
hotel then. Haven't stayed there since it
became a Marriott.

I cannot be so generous. I thought the decor was very dated when I stayed there this past spring. The $169 rate (all that was available was a mini-suite) didn't endear me, either. I moved to the Bonaventure later that week. Oh, heavenly bed!

I have never stayed in a mini-suite at the LA Downtown Marriott but I can testify that the standard guest rooms were very nice at that hotel. Also, I enjoyed the room service over there and the quality of food was very nice, as well.
