REDUCED TA COMMISSION, AGAIN!
Well, I new this was going to happen sooner or later. In TA weekly, Marriott has announced that starting on 11/15 they will be "restructuring" the TA commission schedule. If you are a certified agency(you must take a course sponsered by Marriott), you still will receive 10% commission. If you are not the new rate is 8%. They also said that others are considering the same action. Pretty soon, Car rentals!!

Makes me wonder about the price/time involved with this course and what its "critical" content actually might be!

Raeban took the "course" -- took less than an hour and was very easy. Strange part of the Marriott program is that it requires you (the agent or the agency) to pledge to NOT aggressively promote other hotel chains.

Starwood still pays FULL 10% regardless if you are trained or not. They love TAs. Next to their CRO the TA books the most rooms! Marriott has bit the hand that feeds it.
