Bizarre - Champagne Rception at 7am
 

I got to the lounge this morning at 7am, and I was offered a glass of champagne. :confused:

I asked what the special occasion was, and was told that they will be doing it once a month.

I doubt it will catch on, as no one took them up on the offer in the 30 minutes or so I was there. It's generally people on business at that time.

This was the Regents Park Marriott by the way.

Drat - they weren't doing that when last I stayed there. I would have taken them up on it :D. Maybe they thought it would be nice to do, but didn't want guests wiping them out of their champagne supply by offering it in the evening ;)

Those darn Europeans. They still aren't used to water being safe to drink so they resort back to safer fermented beverages.

Nothing better than a Bucks Fizz or Mimosa first thing in the morning while on holiday !

"work" is the slippery slope. Remember "work is the curse of the drinking class"!:D

No different from pre-departure champagne on a flight, I say.
