inconsistent LNF rejections

I tried to get a LNF rate for JW Marriott in LA at the LA live.

All the rates are $329 /nt for the weekend I want but from Kayak I get directed to getaroom.com and see $210/nt.

I searched FT and found that getaroom.com rates where honored in the past ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...l#post15873507)

"ut I was rejected based on the type of website that getaroom.com operates:
"According to the Terms and Conditions of Marriott's Look No Further(SM) Best Rate Guarantee, a comparison rate must be reservable by the general public and be verifiable by Marriott. According to our review of the site with which your comparison was made, reservations are not confirmed to guests at the time of the initial transaction. We are unable to verify your comparison as reservation requests made via this source are considered in the following manner:

http://news.getaroom.com/faq/

"I don’t have long to wait for a confirmation. What can I do?

Typically, most lodging reservations are made in real time and your confirmation should only take a few seconds. You will be notified of the status of your reservation within 2 to 4 hours. However, there can be delays. In such cases, you will receive an email from us without a confirmation number. When we receive the confirmation number from the property, it will be emailed to you. If there is a special request or rate change associated with your reservation, the request will be sent to a Customer Care agent for processing."

Should I call back the LNF people and ask to speak to a supervisor or just book on the other site and try the claims again?

the LNF rejection is totally consistent with your own verbage:

(and, just because using this website in the past was approved does not necessarily make it always acceptable this time as the LNF folks follow the rules stated and were totally correct in their rejection)

But that's what makes it inconsistent. Another post shows they accepted this website (FAQ and all) but then rejected it based on the FAQ for me.

Getaroom.com should never have been approved in the first place!

So your whining that a LNF agent made a mistake befitiing either you or someonelse does not control when the terms and conditions plainly disallow this and other websites. :td:

LNF must always show 'available' or something like it on the comparison page. 'on request' will always be denied. I see nothing wrong with this picture.

Don't you think you could have made your point without the unfriendly language?

FlyerTalk seems to be moving away from the friendly, collegial place it used to be. I, for one, regret that.

Fully support your response.
There's been too many stupid questions being asked and frankly, stupid questions need to be responded to accordingly

That change must have started well before I started reading FT in 2005. :D
