The compensation seems more than adequate, given how cruddy that CL is in the first place. |

I had the same problem where I was told last weekend that the club would be open on Sunday afternoon on the Friday before. So Sunday I tried to enter the club and the sign posted on the door said the club will reopen on Tuesday morning and the club was being used for a private party. The front desk comp my friend and I breakfast on Monday morning and Starbucks the night before. Was that not fair compensation? I stayed at the Marriott IAD.

Well, that was your first mistake.

That wasn't even my major issue. The hotel is definitly not up to Marriott standards. I did send a quick email to Marriott Customer Relations about all the problems I had thru out my stay:td:
I've spoken to the GM and found him to be the problem. Until he is replaced, the hotel will continue to be one of the worst properties in the chain. The Herndon Marriott Suites and both nearby SHS are better options. I figure the manager must have married a Marriott granddaughter and that the family wrote off this hotel, figuring they have to give the guy a job and this way he stays out of the corporate headquarters. Really, there can be no other excuse for this man running a hotel than family obligation. |

But sorry to hear this particular property is that bad. Good to know & will drop it from my list (Marriott IAD). Cheers. |

Edit: Found the thread I was thinking of and socrates clarified that holidays are not exempt contrary to prior anecdotes.

What, you found the thread & then couldn't post a link? ;) :p :D

Thanks. I think Marriott Concierge might have said that as well in a dif thread, or maybe I was thinking of this one.
BTW - the only FS I know that explicitly states on their website that the exec lounge is closed on the holidays is the one in Israel, and it's basically the Jewish high holidays eve before & day of. I'd have to check the stickey to see if they provide brekkie coupons instead. Cheers. |

I would expect that location also not to have any kind of hot food available on Sat mornings either, unless they no longer wanted to be certified kosher, as cooking isnt allowed on the Jewish Sabbath

I was able to contact the manager of this location and express my concerns. He offered to give me a free night stay at this location if i wanted to come back again. The issue is I have no plans to come back to that location . So i dont know if i should take it or leave it

In a similar situation I complained at check-out and they took $50 off the bill.

Do you think you might come back again, or is it truly you won't be in the area again? If it's the latter, tell him you appreciate the offer but since you won't be back again then you'd appreciate points instead & come up w/ some amount - don't get greedy about it though. If by chance you think you might be back in the area at some point in the future or know someone else who will that you could gift it to, take the free night.
