Group bill question

Lots of information in this thread but it doesn't really answer my question (or maybe it does and I'm not seeing it).

I am expecting to see a past hotel stay show up in my account. I've already set my expectations low but wanted to ask here anyway:

- made a reservation through a third party for a weekend stay associated with a large group. This isn't a website like priceline or orbitz but rather a company that specializes in these kinds of functions. I was able to pick my hotel by name and had to enter my credit card to reserve the room.
- the director of my organization had to put down a deposit to reserve a specific number of rooms
- I presented my MR platinum card at check-in. I was given concierge access.
- The bill I received has my name on it (but in a different format than I'm used to seeing)
- My bill has my room rate and my MR number (in typical XXXXXnnnn format)
- The name of the group appears below my name and the words "ACCT # GROUP" appears in the upper right corner

The points for this stay have not posted yet (it's only been a week or so but my next regular stay has posted). The stay does not show in my "Recent Activity"

Am I out of luck on this (getting points and nights credit)?

Thanks.

figured I would post a response.

Yes, I did get nights and points credit.

This happens a lot when you're in a room block with a large group.

Your points and nights will not be posted until the entire event is closed out. That means that the Marriott location will not credit you until the hotel and the host that booked the group finalizes everything. I've found that for some especially large groups, this can add a couple of weeks to the posting time.

Lexdevil your explanation makes sense. I attended the eTech conference this year and it took an extended period of time for the stay and the points to post. My other stays at the same property when I was not attending a conference typically posted within a few days. Now I understand why the delay occurred for the conference stay.

Thanks,

Jon
