My suggestion would be to work on the main website. It takes forever to load and more than once its locked up my browser forcing me to kill it and try again.

Would you guys post the browser type/version and internet connection type/speed you are using? I suspect that's a big factor, as a fast browser with an average connection produces no problems.

My quote that you noted was in reference to the useability of the Hilton site, not the functionality. It functions just fine. However, its ease-of-use is less than to be desired IMO. For me, it has nothing to do with IE8 or the speed of my cable modem connection.

I know - didn't meant to misrepresent that. I'm curious just the same because a good browser and connection shouldn't yield problems with either site. Have you tried Chrome or Opera? Any cable modem should be fast enough, so I agree that's not likely the culprit. I use a 3G connection that is slower than most cable modems and I have no problem with Hilton, Marriott, or many other sites. They load blazing fast, rarely cause a crash (and that's despite using a Dev version of Chrome).

Andrew, how about an iPod Touch/Phone/Pad app? Nothing elaborate just make it easy to check for a hotel, look up/change reservations. Hilton Garden (not Hilton's) has a pretty good app..

Will it feature a way to report missing stays without having to fax/mail in information? The Starwood website has this and it's a really helpful feature.

+1

That, and automatic upgrade requests, would be nice.

Folks, I imagine the development work for the effort that Marriott Concierge announced is already complete and well through testing. We're going to get what we're going to get at this point, so there is little use in posting replies asking (or demanding ) that things be taken away or added. When the site goes live, that is the time for comments and feedback. :-:

I agree with this comment. Missing stays are pretty rare -- I've had only a handful in almost a thousand stays -- but the service center does tend to treat you like a criminal when you try to correct these things. Surely, Marriott could get whatever documentation is necessary from the hotels themselves. Just call or email and say, "Mr. X says that he stayed there May 10-12. Could you please email us the folio so we can post his points?" Done. Forcing us to fax bills that we received by email ourselves, especially when we may not have access to a fax machine, is a real pain.

Are you on dial-up? What browser do you use? Give Chrome a try.

The page loads VERY slow on IE. Go to Chrome and it downloads right away. Not sure what the issue is, I guess just another Microsoft issue.

Bruce,

You don't need to fax. Quoting the Marriott Concierge,

You can forward eFolios to [email protected], or attach a scanned copy of your hotel bill to an e-mail and send it to [email protected]. Please make sure to include your account number on any documentation that you send.

The above procedure has always worked for me.

That thought occurred to me too.

Wonder if they did any focus groups on the website or just winged it on their own w/o input.

Cheers.

I would guess that it was winged without input from others. I've seen this with many companies, especially UA!

Now this is an extremely generous and optimistic statement.

I can't argue with you on this point. Marriott will give us what they want to.
