Yes they share facilities... the pool complex is all common between the hotel and vacationclub area. There are some activities are are more meant/designed for the timeshare such as daily activities, movie night etc. The resort also has their own daily activities on site.

As for breakfast, unlikely to get that for free as it is a resort and that is not part of the plat benefits... however a room upgrade is pretty likely unless you're going when the hotel is full. There is a casino on property that may be of interest for some fun, and their lounge has a great extended happy hour.

There are some restaurants off site that are good and within walking distance also. Be sure to check out an area called 'The Strip'. Bit more of a walk from the hotel, or cheap cab ride. Its on a long beach with various bars and restaurants. Turns into a nightlife place later. I liked a place called Boozies towards the end of the strip, and Mr. X's Shiggidy Shack at the beginning.

Has anyone been there since the merger and can comment on the Platinum breakfast benefit?

I am not sure whether you are referring to the Marriott/Starwood hotels merger or the MVC/ILG merger, but neither would impact this - there is no free breakfast for Platinum members at the hotel/resort (unfortunately)

Are you sure? I was under the impression that with the merger, Marriott modified its Platinum and above elites' breakfast benefit to include Marriott Resorts. Now they are supposed to offer at least free continental breakfast as a Plat amenity choice. The issue of course is there are a number of exclusions and exceptions, but I don't remember St. Kitts being on that list.

Note that MVCI properties are an exception (as they really aren't hotels anyway.) Thus the St. Kitts Beach Club which is on the same property with the hotel, probably won't provide breakfast where staying on the hotel resort side should.

I understand what you are referring to and it will be interesting to know what the hotel does in practice.
The new Marriott Rewards Ts & Cs are 70 pages so take some reading!
This recent summary certainly makes a good attempt at explaining what we should get.
https://loyaltylobby.com/2018/08/31/...ons-explained/
As you say though, that would be for the St Kitts hotel not the MVC resort.

That looks like what Horace wrote a few weeks ago in the breakfast thread & is synthasized in post #2 in the exec lounge sticky at the forum.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, but with the Marriott/Starwood merger Platinum and up get free breakfast as a welcome benefit even at resorts. I am just wondering how they are choosing to implement this.

Hopefully someone staying there soon will give an update on what they are doing in practice.
i agree that the Marriott hotel as a resort should now start providing breakfast.
Unfortunately, this will not include the MVC timeshare owners and guests.

Forget to update. Breakfast was one of the platinum options. It is a continental with I think $10 upgrade to full buffet but don’t quote me.

It was more more than enough for us. They gave you a card where you chose 2 items from one column and 2 from other. It included bagel/cream cheese, croissant, muffin, toast, turkey, fruit, yogurt from my recollection.
Juice and coffee. Nicely presented in a 4 sectioned plate.
Had a great time as always.

The breakfast option is for the hotel not VC. Going to VC next month. Will update what the platinum choice is there.

Lounge

A little confused as I am somewhat sleep deprived. Did someone mention a lounge at this property or was it related to breakfast offering?

No lounge. Continental breakfast is one of the Platinum arrival choices.
Vacation Club is 1000 points only, no breakfast.

Confirming above- Plat or Titanium get the Continental breke arrival choice & the buffet is a $10 upgrade. The Continental is a choice of 4 selections which could include hot eggs.
Here now for a week, we did get an upgrade to a one bedroom villa with a kitchen, & its not by the main (noisy) pool but next to the 'quiet' north pool. Casino tables are open 4pm to 4am. April rates are more than 100$ a night less than March rates + the savings on the tax's which is about 25%. Food tax's are only 12% here.

Nice Tuesday 5-6 pm Elite cocktail reception , wine & finger food served with management of hotel.

Oh good sports bar across street is 'Uncle Fats' with local micro brewery beer
