We got moved to the JW in November as the renovations were extended. Disappointed but hopefully the JW will be almost as nice.

I'd say the W. Granted, I visited the StR a few years ago, and at that time, they didn't have wave breakers across the villa. So, perhaps there are some fishes there now, but I did see a lot by the large OWV. At the W, within just a few yards, you're surrounded by many colorful fishes, some sharks, and turtles.

Did anyone get a response from their [email protected] address recently? I've sent two emails in the past two weeks and have not received a response yet. Has anyone an alternative email address? Thanks!

I finally got a response and thought that I could share the most recent pricing for meal/beverage plans:

Half Board (03 course dinner):

Child - age 3 to 11 years only: USD114.85nett per person per day

Adult - age 12 years and above: USD229.70nett per person per day

Full Board (03 course Lunch and Dinner):

Child - age 3 to 11 years only: USD169.00nett per person per day

Adult - age 12 years and above: USD331.80nett per person per day

Beverage Package :

Child - age 3 to 11 years only: USD103.00nett per person per day

Adult - age 12 years and above: USD191.40nett per person per day
Can anyone confirm these prices? We try to decide between the Alila and the W and the F&B prices seem (unexpectedly) high at the W? All-inclusive is 250$/day at the Alila...

Is this hotel going to reopen in 2024 or into 2025?

We hsve a booking in early January 2025 and have been asked if we want to stay at JW. Despite the email stating they plan to open late December 2024.

Looks like opening day is now January 12th. 12th and 13th can be had for 77.5k points per night. Have a stay coming up in March.

Is there a delay in renovation?
I will be staying in February and little concerned.
If I change to JW, will the room rate remain the same?
It is a little bit, but the fare is W > JW.

Yeah, looks like re-opening mid January now. Brutal, no x-mas and NYE season for them. Something must have gone horribly wrong early on. They posted the January opening in late July - projecting a 2 month delay just 3 months into renovations is not a good sign.
We are booked January 20-26 … I sure hope they can stick to their revised schedule!

Do the seaplanes land directly at the resort or do they use a platform away from resort with a speedboat transfer? I read some negative reviews regarding the noise and fuel smell from the seaplanes. So, I am a little bit concerned about this.

They land the seaplanes at the hotel. This isn’t an airport, you’ll get maybe 4 aircraft land in a day, the noise isn’t a nuisance and I never smelt any fumes.

The seaplanes land at the resort; it might be an issue for the villas immediately across from it

Thanks! Are the villas to the left and right of the footbridge different categories?
