I'd love to see the menu. Please post.
Thanks

The menus are all in PDF format; if a mod or anyone else can tell me how to post a PDF, I'm happy to do it.

80,000 points per night? Is that with 5th night free? They’d been quoting 85,000 for that room (which I paid). You have a confirmation at 80,000??

Also - mind posting the info they sent you? Very interesting about breakfast. I’m Plat but they don’t mention that anywhere on the site and I’d be super annoyed if I turned up and they told me I was the one guest without free breakfast....

Yes, I have a confirmation at 80,000.
As PDFs were sent, maybe you can also contact [email protected] so that you can directly communicate with them too.

Not odd at all. Sec. 3.2.f. of the Terms and Conditions stipulate that the 5th night free applies to the standard room redemption, but not the premium upgrade redemption.

Great to know. SPG gave all of the 5th night free, even upgraded room types. Something else to simply bear in mind with the new combined program...

I paid 340,000 for 5 nights, 85K x 4. Is that right, or should it have been 80k x 4 = 320k? Or was the calculation 80k x 4 = 320k + 20k for the 5th night upgrade based on above-referenced T&Cs?

This is correct.
Technically, it's 60k x 4 for the standard award + 20k x 5 for the upgrade award.

I believe that technically the calculation was 60K x 4 = 240K for base room plus 100K (20K x 5) for upgraded room. Same answer as your second calculation but your activity in your account should show these two amounts as being deducted for the stay.

Thanks. Great deal no matter how it's calculated.

Are all the points bookings non-refundable? I'm seeing "The time for canceling without penalty has passed" under the cancellation policy when I try to book dates for next year. Or is that a "feature" of the new Marriott app?

I am planning an award upcoming stay in August for 5 nights. I hope to have the 240K points by end of Dec. I really want to stay in a OWB and since points as not an option I asked the property for a quote on the upgrade and was quoted $250++. For the dates I have in mind the cash diff is only $200++ - I asked for a reduced quote of $150++ being a PPE and all but was shot down. StR is sold out for the dates. They did say they could potentially upgrade me at check in but that is a risk I am not wiling to take. Its my wife's birthday so I want to guarantee a OWB before hand.

Should I take up on their offer or should I wait till Westin opens and try there? The Westin would be open for about 8 months by the time I get there so they should have all their opening issues sorted out by then.

240

How sure are you of getting the availability at 240k? Have you booked it? Those all suites hotels at 240k seem to be a red herring.

Why do you say this? Do you mean you just won't have enough points? You can definitely upgrade the award booking to OWV for 20,000 points per night. I did it for a 7 night stay in May.

That was a mistake rate that did not last long.

The 'correct' upgrade rate to OWV that is currently loaded is 110k per night (at least, for the StR; I assume that the rate is comparable for the W).

Did you call? While that’s indeed the case for StR I was quoted 340k for 5 days at the W many days after StR went up. It may or may not have changed by now but nobody has yet reported that.
