Where is your office? With the horrible ATL traffic I would book closest to my office. I like this hotel a lot. Very near the Arts Center MARTA station, and an easy commute from mid to downtown for me at least. |
Update
Guests now have the option of having their folio emailed to them. They should ask you at check in, in the event they do not, be sure to ask.
They have improved the offerings at the "Cafe". http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...n/DSC02426.jpg http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...n/DSC02425.jpg It appears they've tried to address the "see thru shower" by darkening the "privacy" strip so you cannot see the toilet from the bedroom. I know you can't tell from this picture, but the privacy strip seemed to be heavier/darker than it did in the past. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...n/DSC02438.jpg |
Trust me ... the 'Darkened' privacy strip is not enough ...
Add me as another -1 for Spice Market. Appetizers were decent, but the Entree was a big letdown. Would much rather eat at Tamarind Seed around the corner, or TAP across the street. |

It appeared darker to me. Not you? Off topic: I love TAP. Even though it's a Pub, the food is really good. The batter dipped shrimp with Lava Sauce....Yumm-O ^ |
Reviews of the SPice Market have been quite so-so here... but I am currently sitting here enjoying a Kumquat Mojito, and the Black Pepper Shrimp with Sundried Pineapple and it is absolutely fantastic. Spicy, but a great blend of flavours!
Music is great, and the ambiance is good too. Even if there is some guy sitting here typing away on his laptop! :D Waiting on my Samosas... will report back! |

I visted the bar/lounge on Sat. Very nice. I will need to stay here soon.

I'm new to SPG in general as I usually stick pretty closely to HHonors. That said, I got a great deal on an upcoming stay at The W Atlanta Midtow on the night of June 20... combination Fathers Day Celebration and Date Night with my wife who is expecting triplets. HHonors ATL properties aren't exactly the most luxurious, so given the price, The W Midtown seemed like a winner (less than the Westin Peachtree, or Buckhead, about the same as Perimeter). I do have a couple of quick questions...
1.) What is the parking rate (self or valet)? The property's own website does not mention... 2.) Any chance The Acura Experience would push out to 3 miles? We're having dinner at Highlands TAP and it's 2.7 miles by Google Maps. 3.) What are others experiences with getting The Acura Experience to do return pickup? I called the front desk and they said they'd be willing to do pickup as long as they weren't swamped with drop-offs... any insights on the likelihood of getting picked back up? |

I can say that the bathroom is very strange with all that glass, although the non suite bathrooms are more of a standard type bathroom and are not like the ones found in the suites. Hotel was packed this weekend, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly, including my 11 year old son who thought it was great since he seemed to be the only kid there. He actually begs me to stay at a W when in town. I guess he is as hooked as I am. |
Had a fairly disappointing stay here last week...checked in around 9pm, was told no upgrade possible because the hotel was sold out, despite the fact that all room categories showed available on spg.com. The room was fine, though when I woke up the power was out. Called down, and it came back about 10-15 mins later. Service at the restaurant for breakfast was abysmal -- took forever, forgot half the order, etc., though there were only 3 other tables seated for breakfast at the same time.
The only saving grace was the corporate rate I was on: $109. For that price I'm going to give them another shot this week, but if the stay is as bad I'm done. |

At least the power didn't go out and service at breakfast was better. Cheap Elite, thanks for the tips on places nearby...will try next time if I can. Overall I would say for $109 during the week it is a good value, but at the "best available rate" (double that when I stayed) I would stay elsewhere. |

This is now officially the worst W hotel I have stayed at in terms of Platinum treatment.. check in took 20 minutes, they could not find my reservation despite giving them a print out, absolutely no Platinum recognition or mention of the Platinum amenity, was upgraded from a wonderful to a spectacular room and was told this was the best room they could give me. I checked online and they have still suites available, called the manager and was promptly told that this was the best they could do for me, no apologies and borderline rude..
