Presidential Suite as Gold members?

Are you a Senator or something?

No, just got lucky. I guess they were full of non-status prople - they walked a couple of Navy officers to the Sheraton as we were checking in.

I think they were impressed with Maha's post count. :D

Where's the cheapest place to self park at this property, will not need to use the car much and it will be during a weekend. Don't mind walking a few blocks. Thanks!

You could try Vassar Street for free parking (closest street with no meters) -- depending on what time you arrive and how long you are willing to circle you may get free parking for the weekend.

On Sunday, most meters don't need to be fed so many more street options will open up.

Alternatively, if you are affiliated with MIT, they have weekend parking options outlined here

Great, thanks! I didn't think you could park in Cambridge on a street without meters, without a resident permit or something. Great tip! What about the large parkade attached to the hotel? I was not able to find much info about it.

I would bet there are other options, but I know there is a garage 2-3 blocks away at Pearl & Green which has $13 overnight parking. I live in this area, so feel free to PM with any questions.

It's been some time since I last stayed here, but my memory was that there was more or less a smallish sized parking lot sort of off to the side and slightly behind the Sheraton Commander that was their lot. Parking's not cheap here, but that's to be expected. I am not aware of any larger parking facility or garage associated in any way with this hotel. I can imagine that the wee lot that I recall could easily fill up from time to time.

Had a good stay here last week. Got pre-upgraded to a Corner Suite on the 7th floor. Check-in was quick and status recognized. Hotel is very convenient if visiting MIT and it is near the bridge to downtown Boston. Overall, good stay- already have another booked. Some pics (taken on Iphone so apologize for resolution).

Clarifying Statements:
sbtinme's comments apply to the Sheraton Commander hotel in Harvard Square. This is several minutes away from Le Meridien in Central Square. The two properties do not share parking. There is adjacent garage parking at Le Meridien (possibly valet only).

Le Meridien positions the garage parking as valet only (and it is if you want the charge added to your hotel bill). However, it's a large lot also used for some businesses in the are and Star Market (grocery store). So, you can self-park and pay the lot (or Star Market) directly for parking. In fact, Star Market will give you a discount if you buy something there and pay for parking with them.

Also, if you are there in inclement weather - you can make your way from the parking lot, through Star Market, down the escalator and through the door on your left into Le Meridien's side entrance without having to go outside.

Glad to help :) The residential streets and streets within campuses require permits, but a few streets (e.g., Vassar, Memorial Drive) don't.

The garage next to the hotel is very convenient (you don't need to go outside to get from your car back to the hotel) but somewhat pricey. If you do stay there, buy something at Star Market (well stocked supermarket and has a food buffet) and you'll get a discount on parking (details in my two prior posts in this thread).

Le Méridien Cambridge-MIT

Didn't see any thread, comments on this property. Anyone have any discount codes? Neighborhood okay? Is it far to walk to Harvard and the happening areas?

I'm sure you'll find plenty of information in the thread that mahatsamatman posted. The hotel is by MIT/Kendall Square, however it is on T stop away from Harvard Square.
