Sorry for all the posts but I just returned from my Birthday stay at the Westin Seattle and they continue to WOW me and make me love this SPG hotel.

3 night stay on C&P one night and Starpick rates for following 2 nights. Upgraded to Deluxe suite on 41st floor and received chocolate birthday cake. Rainy week but still amazing views from my room(s).

The room(s). . basically received 3 room space in North tower on 41st floor (out of 47). First room was two double beds & large bathroom. .

The room connected with another room with King and 2nd bathroom...

Adjoining room with king bed had 2 part bathroom (great for storing luggage and clothing so not all over the room)...

then there was a frosted glass slider that opened to dining-room and wet bar area

One of my previous nights I got Relish To-Go. This is The Washington for $11 plus $5 for steelhead salmon (nice large portions).

Anyone get an upgrade here when staying on cash+points during the weekend?

Braindrain Apr 30, 2013 9:05 am

I only stay weekends and, yes, I've gotten upgrades. However, there's a lot stuff happening in Seattle all the time so it's quite possible they may be full at any time.

In 10-15 stays over the last 5 years, I have never once received an upgrade at this property. I have had an ambassador the last 2 years...and that has helped exactly 0 here. I get the room I paid for...so I cant really complain.

To be fair, I never get upgraded at the Sheraton or W either. Oh well.

I never get upgraded at the W but have run into an occasional suite upgrade at the Sheraton.

I've gotten suite upgrades at the Westin - some without using SNA and some with.

Ah ok. Thanks for the replies. I'll be a platinum when I stay in June and I am going on a trip to the Northwest to propose ;)

Was hoping for an upgrade, but it is what it is!

My experience is somewhat similar. Probably 25 stays over the last 4 years. Got upgraded to a suite twice. Both were single night stays.

I think the duration of your stays really matter. It's less likely to get a suite upgrade for 3+ night stays in almost any properties.

Had 2 single night stays here on 2 different weekends within this past April using C+P. No suite upgrade but nice view on floor +43.

I have stayed here twice in the last year and been upgraded twice. If its a slow weekend and you ask at the desk they will "unlock" the junior suite attachment to the room. Basically they just took two ajoining rooms and and in one put in a sectional type couch with a pull down bed from behind. Nice when you have multiple people staying as it comes with 2 bathrooms also.

I'm sure if you gave the heads-up to the concierge staff prior to arrival they will do something for you. Provide some sort of amenity at the very least. ^

Right, sorry for not clarifying. All my stays were either 1 or 2 nights.

Not sure when this happened, but the in room internet option is capped at 1mbps UL/DL now. I remember being able to choose a higher tier during my previous stays, but now it's fixed at a pathetically slow rate. Tethering with my IP5 gets me 6mbps DL/7mbps UL.
