Four Points- Metro Center

The Four Points would be my choice. Last month they had a $89/night rate. Great Platinum treatment, ugraded to Casita suite, free drink coupons(2) and free breakfast.

I've enjoyed some good upgrades to spacious balcony rooms; the club floors are reasonably updated and maintained although morning and evening selections are not lavish. If anything, I'd call the Crescent a touch above average for U.S. Sheratons.

Everyone has his own value point, and big events can seriously skew pricing. In 'normal' circumstances I think $195 would be a bit high for this property and so concur on the Cash & Points plan. It sounds like 777 is planning an extended AZ mattress run!

Thanks for the helpful post 3Cforme ^
No mattress run here and especially not on cash and points.
No stay credit and points ;)

This property was slammed on Trips A overwhelmingly so :(
With a terrible average score. Its actually hard to do when you look at the average score of typically fair @ around 3.The hotel is under that bar
It appears possibly some of that may be unfair or undeserved based on your kind report. That said recent reports stated mold in bathroom,no hot water, slow service, and next to a highway with much noise

That good enough for me and tells me its probably not suited for a stay where I will be working and will have little patience.
I will need high productivity and possible guest assistance.
Next time I will check it out on leisure when in the area

I have stayed at all 3 hotels mentioned, of course the Phonecian is the gold standard, but I would always pick the 4 Points over the Crescent. The staff
at the 4 Points is one of the best. and as was mentioned before, if you are Plat you will almost certainly be upgraded to a poolside room ( a living room and bedroom with a little patio in the front. The fitness center is average.
and the hotel is always neat and kept in good condition. Also, their prices are very reasonable.

Just stayed at the Crescent for 3 nights and I have no complaints at all. Was on the Club floor and the room was very nice. The lounge was small, but adequate, with the usual club food.

I was disappointed in this hotel and said so in an email survey I was sent.

I got a follow up from the HR manager and she asked what bothered me. I told her. She deposited 15000 Starpoints into my account without my asking.

Wow - that was very generous. It takes forever to earn 15K points.

Hello, do you mind sharing your brief review of this hotel? I'm planning to be there on July 4th weekend.

Thank you. :)

I've spent quite a few weeks in this hotel last couple of years. The overall hotel and lounge is nice. It is kind of away from activities (Scottsdale/Tempe) but my meetings were within 5 minutes of the hotel. The fitness facility is nice, the pool was okay (not crowded during the weekdays). Free parking and a nice lounge. They used to provide free pelegrino (sparkling water of my choice) in room AFAICR. If I have work in the north phoenix area, I'll surely spend at least one night at this property. Enjoy the hotel.

Im sitting at LINK station now browing the internet. Booked starpick rate @ $59/night. They upgraded me to a nice corner room on 8th floor (top floor) with shared HUGE balcany with other suites. I think they call it deluxe room here.

Room is a bit dated but can't complain since the rate is so reasonable. I missed the club lounge hour so not sure what were they offered. Club lounge is closed on weekend. That said, the front desk agent gave me 2 breakfast vouchers and told me I will get $20 credit. However, 1 voucher says $10 and the other says $15 credit. Total to be $25. I guess I will know tomorrow when I use it at the restaurant.

Sheraton Crescent - Give It A Shot

Just returned from a 12-night stay at this property with Mrs. Singlepoint and our two little Singlepoints. Had a pre-pay rate of $71/nt and was expecting a regular Club level room - which is fine except we were there for so long and I was looking for a bit of separation from the kids etc. I had contacted the front desk prior to the stay and was told we could get an adjoining room for another $71. As I hadn't actually seen how small or large the rooms were, I deferred until we actually saw the facilities. Checked in at the front desk and, as the hotel was really empty during the winter holiday break, was offered the extra room at an additional $50/nt. I countered with an additional $25/nt and the front desk accepted - again, I actually hadn't seen the rooms yet. We were in for a terrific surprise. Was given rooms 723 and 725 (club level) that had a separate door into a foyer of sorts. We then had our own doors to the rooms respectively. 725 was a regular room with king bed, desk etc whereas 723 had a murphy bed as well as a dining room table that sat 6 people with loads of space. We had a microwave and fridge brought into the room for $60 total to save on lunches etc. The combined area of the two rooms would have been at least 1000 sq ft. Each of the rooms let out onto massive decks (20'x30') complete with tables, chairs and loungers. Awesome for a family!!

The lounge was closed for all but the last day of our stay as the lack of people at the property simply didn't warrant it being open. Vouchers were provided for all of us daily to receive a very nice continental breakfast (bowl of yogurt, fresh fruits, juices, toast and pastries. Evening appetizer vouchers were given which give you what are 2 entrees on the restaurant's 5 @ 5 menu. These appetizers were truly a meal (sliders, quesadillas, huge shrimp etc - you get any two of these per person for free). We had Christmas dinner at the hotel and had an excellent turkey dinner for less than $20 each. The lounge, when opened, was excellent as well. Hot items included nicely presented scrambled eggs as well as porridge. Cold items included fresh fruit, parfaits, hard-boiled eggs, bread and bagels etc.

Staff at the property were uniformly helpful - can't say enough about them. The only two faults we found at all were in the restaurant, where speedy service wasn't usually being demonstrated - it may have been that they had reduced staff so much as the hotel was so empty most of the time. The other problem was that the staff didn't all seem to know the terms of the club level vouchers being used in the restaurant. The vouchers state that they are include taxes yet we were charged a couple of times by one server (I think because she simply didn't know). Other servers really weren't sure what they should/should not provide us in terms of toast/pastries. Other than that, the staff were incredibly helpful.

The hotel facilities were way better than I anticipated. The weight room was very well laid out with a wide assortment of machines. The 2 lighted tennis courts were beautiful (nets a bit worn) and they also had a small b-ball area as well as beach v-ball. My son loved the racquetball/squash courts - technically the courts were squash courts but the hotel only had racquetball racquets and balls for guests. I hadn't realized the property had squash and racquetball - otherwise, I would have brought my own racquets to use. The hotel pool was quite large (@ 40' X 20') and the hot tub was big as well (@ 12' x 8').

It should be noted that the property resides at the corner of Dunlop Ave. and I17 - traffic is quite loud and can be heard from the rooms.

Overall, our entire family was extremely impressed - and at that dollar value - we viewed the property as exceptional.

If you have any other questions, ask away :-)

Cheers,

Singlepoint
