Quiet but very limited, there are buy-up options to have e.g. proper eggs. I also found the main restaurant breakfast here to be pretty poor, e.g. it was missing more premium ingredients like smoked salmon and decent charcuterie. Breakfast is definitely not the hotel's strongest feature and I'd typically skip breakfast here to eat in the lounge for an early flight.

Same every day

Hot : one pan of scrambled eggs, and one of sausages.

Plus bread+toaster, bread rolls, fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals and pastries.
A couple of juices, tea, and a nice pod-coffee machine.
Plus the buy-ups.

Since this new lounge breakfast was introduced, the option to take your breakfast in the restaurant has gone, so unless you’ve paid for breakfast, you’ll be directed to the lounge.

Does anyone have a current email address for the hotel? I used to have their SPG one, but no longer works.

Also, does anyone know exactly what a family room at the hotel is? Reservation says: "Family Room 1Twin, Guest room, 1 Queen, Bathrooms: 2" and it looks like it might be 2 connecting rooms given it says 2 bathrooms.

I have tried calling to ask but they are not easy to get through to...

Thanks again, that worked and I already have a reply. Much appreciated.

In case anyone is interested, the family room is indeed two connecting rooms, one with a queen, the other two twin beds. So two bathrooms. The rate was much less than two rooms, so a good value option. There are no club family rooms though.

Stayed here recently....this hotel is much closer to Heathrow terminal 5 than I realised.
This is really is a big selling point for me for future travel.
However, if you are not arriving or leaving from terminal 5, this hotel is really a bit out of the way....so really consider if it's the best choice.

TFL bus number 350 (red colored bus) is the best way to get to/from the Sheraton from terminal 5 and it's FREE both ways.

Bus 350 passes usually passes about 3 times per hour (even on weekends). Except before 5am and after 8pm when it goes down to twice per hour)
Last bus from terminal 5 to the Sheraton is at 0:30 (half past midnight) and first bus back the airport in the morning is at 3:50am in the morning (even on weekends).

Getting bus 350 from Heathrow Terminal 5 to the Sheraton Heathrow for free:

After exiting arrivals hall, go outside of the airport and walk to the street where all the buses pass and go to bus stop number 6. Take the red colored public TFL bus number 350 and get off at the first stop which is called "Duke's Bridge". Despite it being only 1 stop, the bus will take about 5 to 10 minutes to get there depending on traffic. Make sure you tell the driver you are only going 1 stop to the Sheraton hotel, so he waves you through without having to pay. If you travel any further than the 1st or 2nd stop you have to pay.

Once you get off at the bus stop, turn right and walk on the sidewalk in same direction as traffic for about 3 to 5 minutes. You will first pass the "Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre" on your left. Walk past that, and the hotel will appear a minute or 2 afterwards on your left.

Getting bus 350 from the Sheraton Heathrow to Heathrow Terminal 5 for free:

Exit the Sheraton hotel main exit and walk straight ahead to the main road. Turn right at the sidewalk and walk a bit forward until you can see the bus stop of "Colnbrook By-Pass" on the other side of the road. You will now have to cross 2 dual carriageways to get to the other side of the road. Be very careful when crossing as cars, buses and trucks come very fast down this road ! If you have small children with you, make sure you hold their hand tightly. Once you are there take bus 350 back to the airport which is the final stop anyway. It's just 1 stop from the hotel back to the airport, but the bus will take about 5 to 10 minutes to get there depending on traffic. You don't have to pay anything.

Other free pubic bus alternative:

In theory, can also take red TFL bus 423 from terminal 5 to/from the Sheraton but the bus stops (in both directions) near the Sheraton are way, WAY more far away then where the bus 350 stops. Also, bus 423 tends to get VERY full...so avoid it if you can.

I stayed here many years ago before the rennovations, so I know what it looked like before. Back then it was pretty awful. Recently decided to try it again after seeing that they rennovated almost the whole hotel and added a proper club louge.
The recent stay left me with mixed feelings...it's better than ever before, but still not great.

Here are my impressions:

Rooms

Obviously the rooms and hallways look a lot better than they used to and you feel like you are staying at a decent 3 or 4 star hotel, considerng the price. I'm not a fan of all the grey colored fixtures they decided to go for in the rooms, but it's still a significant improvement on the awful way they used to look like before. The bathrooms especially are much more attractive and the walk-in showers are a very welcome adddition. I'm glad they have a decent sized desk in the rooms and the in-room safe is large enough for a laptop.

However, as others have noted they did try to cut costs during the rennovations. This isn't apparent at first glance but if you take a closer look you will notice it. All the room doors are the old ones (they just painted them over). The water faucet to turn on the shower seemed of a very poor quality and didn't look like it would last more than a year or so. Much worse in my opinion are the room windows, which are also the old ones from when the hotel was built.

From what I can see NOTHING was done to the windows, so they look really old, scratched, dirty, and full of condensation in certain spots. In my case there was also some rubber lining falling out. Yes, the windows can be opened for fresh air at this hotel, but take a look in the corners (where the hinges are) when you open them...I found dust that hadn't been cleaned in probably about 10 years or more. Very dirty indeed. On a general basis, the windows are way too small for the large rooms and don't let in much light. However, there isn't much the hotel could have done here are it would involve breaking apart the masonry/walls around the window. So, they decided to do nothing instead. They could have at least changed them.

Club Lounge

The new club louge is on the ground floor right next to the restaurant in an enclosed area with curtains that you access with your key. It is apparently open 24 hours and 7 days a week, but there is no staff in there most of the time except when breakfast or evening food is served. Decor wise it looks quite nice, but I thought it was a little bit small for a hotel that has over 400 rooms. There must be space for only like 30 to 35 people at most in there. More importanly however, it felt dark because they have created an enclosed area that gets no natural light at all. So no matter what time of day you go there, it feels like it's night time, and with all the curtains it makes you feel like you are in fancy room that is underground. It may not bother others but it's the 1st time I've come across a hotel lounge with no natural light at all.

The lounge serves breakfast from 6am to 9am. It's a small selection and the only warm items are toast, scrambled eggs and sausages. The rest is yogurt, pastries, bread, cereal, and some fruits. 9am is an early cut off for breakfast, so you'll have to wake up early so you don't miss it.

Lounge evening food is from 6pm to 8pm and includes again 2 warm items (which change from night to night) and few more cold items. Beer and wine have to be ordered from staff each time you want them. No alcohol is on display or available anywhere except from staff. I don't even know if spirits are even an option. I didn't ask, so have no idea.

Both at breakfast and dinner, there is small menu where you can order some extra items and pay an extra price.
At all other times apart from breakfast & dinner, there is zero food and only water, juice, coffee, tea and soft drinks like pepsi.

As far as hotel club lounges go it's acceptable, but I've had a lot better. I would not come to this hotel because you want a good lounge experience. Realise that there is no staff except at breakfast & dinner time, no alcohol buffet, no natural light at all, and a limited range of food both at breakfast and in the evening.

Conclusion:

I have mixed feelings towards this hotel after the rennovations and new club lounge. It's certainly better than it ever was before, but it's still not that great. One thing I noticed is that no matter where you are in this hotel it always feels like there isn't much natural light from outside... the rooms have small windows, the reception area is very dark, and the club lounge has no natural light at all. I think the hotel building itelf just wasn't made very well when they first built it 40/50 years ago, and instead of knocking it down and making a better hotel, they basically put a lot of lipstick on an old pig. The close location to terminal 5 is a big selling point, but if you don't need that terminal this hotel is far out of the way to everything else. The renovations have made the rooms much nicer, but a few things still feel off. It's great that they have a club lounge now, but this too was done with a tight budget in mind.

Bottom line, only stay here if you need to be near terminal 5 and/or if you can get a nightly rate below 100 GBP. You really can get much better quality than the Sheraton elsewhere at Heathrow for the same price.

Thanks for the reviews. Concur with the poor quality bathroom fittings, and the non-replacement of the old windows.

IMHO The biggest plus in the renovation was the replacement of the old, cranky aircon system with one that works really well.

The 423 stop (which is named "Heathrow Park Thistle Hotel" is, in fact, as close to the Sheraton than the 350 "Dukes Bridge" stop. But you do have to cross the A4 Colnbrook By-pass, and walk along the pathway down the side of the Premier Inn.

Dukes Bridge 350 is the stop at the left edge of this Google Maps image, near "Colnbrook By-Pass"; Heathrow Park Thistle Hotel 423 is at the bottom, above "Longford Pump".

The 423 is equally as good as the 350.

I've asked. No spirits.

The staff do circulate the lounge frequently with wine (and copious top-ups). if you'd like a beer instead, they fetch you a cold one from backstage.

I was here last night and would confirm:

1. Lounge Breakfast ends 9am. It’s pretty basic with a mixed fruit salad, 3 cereals, 3 types of danish, croissants, white and brown sliced bread for toasting, scrambled eggs and sausages. Tea and coffee via a machine, plus orange juice. There’s no access to the restaurant breakfast unless you choose it as your welcome amenity or pay

2. Evening service is 6pm to 8pm and alcohol is red or white wine, Stella or Becks beer, all stored in a side room accessed only by staff who are however very good at replenishing. Hot food was mini Bhajis or very small chicken satay skewers. Cold was some meats and a salad bowl.

3. The free Heathrow bus service is as pointed out difficult to use, especially as on one of your journeys you’re going to have to dash across the dual carriageway dodging some fast traffic.

4. Rooms are a good size and comprehensively refurbished, walk-in showers are lovely!

This hotel is frequently to be found at £70-£90 and it’s good value there. Once you go above £100 I reckon you’ll feel somewhat badly done by!

Stayed here for a 2nd time recently and can confirm they have changed the policy regarding breakfast for platinum members (and above).

Guests who have lounge access, can eat breakfast for free in the main restaurant ON WEEKENDS ONLY. During weekdays, breakfast is only free inside the lounge. The receptionist I spoke to defined "weekend" as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings...I didn't get anything in writing.

On those mornings where breakfast can be had for free in the main restaurant, you can also get the 1000 welcome points as well. On all other days, you have to choose one or the other.
