"your session timed out" message when trying to modify room booking
Hello,
Recently whenever I am checking on existing award booking to see if the number of points required has changed, after clicking on the "Modify Booking" button, the screen immediately tells me " Your session has timed out". " please start another booking request." Is this a new problem anyone else is seeing or am I just special! Thanks for any replies, Sorry I see this has already been raised in the IT thread. Should have looked first. Mods, please feel free to delete or move to that thread, |

I tried again just now. This time, I didn't get the error for any of them. Two of reservations would now still be the same cost. Three of them would cost more. So, of course, I didn't make any changes. |
It has been happening to me as well. I could not change 2 of my Rez recently, vso I cancelled both and booked with Hilton. I don't waste time with Marriott Website anymore. If it works great, if it doesn't I go to their competition.

Earlier this year I had many reservations in several countries in Asia, and in a separate in several cities in US. When I found the rate/points had changed, I tried to modify. More than half of the time there were system errors. I ended up having to cancel and rebook.
Marriott IT has been flaky. |
This is a recent but not new issue. The workaround I posted in another thread was to make sure you start by viewing/modifying a reservation that is not at the top of your list and is preferably a cash (not points) reservation. After that things seem to work properly. I frankly don't know what I'd do with only one or two award reservations. Fortunately I have a Park 'n' Fly cash booking part way down the first page of reservations that clears the issue every time. It would be worth making a distant future cash reservation just to have this option.

I am experiencing the same issue, but only when I try to modify a booking on Marriott.com. Using the app seems to work, as I was able to modify several bookings there without any error messages.

When I went to the App. I couldn't see a way to "modify" a booking. There's a heading on the screen that seems to show the link to "modify/cancel" but when I click it the only option is "cancel" Is there another way to do it in the app? Thanks, |

App won't let you modify points reservations. It will only let you cancel them. Cash reservations can be both modified or cancelled in the app. To modify a points reservation, you have to use the website.
--Jon Glad to know I wasn’t missing something. So I took yyzflyer’s tip and made a cash booking for next year and it worked! Thanks for that, Much appreciated :tu: |
