We know you no longer like Marriott and that's fine. Not questioning that. For points posting, you need to give up to 10 days. Usually they post faster than that. Was your stay as part of a group? If it was, those can take much longer to post until the master folio for the group is settled. So getting upset at the 3 day mark is a bit premature. Off SoapBox.

My last two stays have posted within 24 hours - a record! In all seriousness, mine usually post within 48 hours, and probably 5% post within 72. I have only had a single stay (Westin Hapuna Beach) not post within 10 days.

When I do mobile checkout it actually states “points will post within 72 hours”. Still waiting for a stay from 5 weeks ago. Another from two weeks ago and the latest that finished on the 13th. I know I will have to chase all of them. Not good enough.

It’s definitely frustrating … there are some properties within Europe that automatically post the points the very next day and I wonder why can’t all properties do this? It makes for my accounting of such affairs much easier when they are posted in a timely and prompt manner.

Mine is at 5 days - part of a small block of rooms, but we all paid our own bills, and my B*nv*y number is on my folio. I have no doubt my (more expensive) Marriott stay I am on now will post first, and then I will lose out on more promo points, and I will have to deal w/byzantine Marriott CS to try and retroactively have the first one post sooner and promo points recalculated, etc.

Reason #47 why the grass can be greener...

I feel your pain. I used to regularly attend an annual trade conference in Columbus, OH. There was a special rate for the conference for attendees and exhibitors. Even though it was a conference rate, everyone paid for their rooms individually. It would still typically take nearly a month for the points for my stay to post until the entire conference master folio was settled.

Not sure if your block of 5 rooms is in the same category. For the conference I attended, 6+ hotels in Columbus would all sell out for this event. So obviously an entirely different scale. Regardless, hope your stay posts soon and in time so that your promo points also post correctly without the need for CS intervention.

Only stay out of 4 that posted was at Delta Birmingham UK. Day after it was there.

Out of the past 16 nights (all single nights at different properties) I spent on my last trip, 14 of those stays were Marriott and all of them posted within 24 hours. 2 of those nights were Hyatt - one posted within 48 hours and one still hasn't posted 4 days later.

When did it get so difficult to get missing stay credit?

Been with Hilton for a while but have been at a LOT of Marriots recently and have been having issues with credit for stays. Used to be you called or emailed them and all was good. Now they require you to request a stay from the hotel and then send it to Customer Service. Evidently you have to do this, hotel can't send it directly to Marriott. Ok, strange but new policy. So I request a missing stay, hotel quickly sends the stay request. I send it to Marriott and they send me a note telling me that they can't read the file, that it has to be a PDF file. So I then look at the file that the hotel sent me, it is a TIF file, and is not even my receipt but instead someone elses folio with their personal information.

So from what used to be just a phone call to adjust a missing stay, now you have to request your folio, send it to Marriott, who says they can't read the file, evidently because it is a TIF file. I am able to read the file, but discover it isn't even my folio. All I can say is great step forward Marriott. Have a new procedure that makes the customer do additional work, I guess to make them not request missing stays. Meanwhile don't sync up with the hotel with the file type you want, or can even read when guests request a folio for the hotel for a missing stay.

I guess the whole point of this exercise is to discourage people from requesting credit for missing stays, but I must say the Hilton Diamond Desk is so much better than Marriott Platinum Customer Service for what use to be a simple 30 second request.

What’s wrong with using the form here? https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/myA...StayRequest.mi

you should always request an inoive upon checkout if it isn’t automatically delivered.

There was a time where a quick email describing the essentials and pic of receipt to [email protected] would get missing points credited within 24-48 hours, done so many times during stay-less restaurant visits.

Nowadays, it seems that contact point is deactivated and Marriott relies on the hotel to credit points. Most recent experience, contact center simply created a ticket and sent it to the hotel on my behalf.

Rarely dine at Marriott restaurants anymore because of this, some waiters even get confused when you present your Bonvoy number.

Yep, difficulty with the needed digital info, If needed i take a picture of the paper receipt and email it on the 2nd request for information.

Actually, missing stays for me are down this last year, still a problem if back-to-back reservations during one of the promotions, and one is a redeemed night & the other is a paid night.

BTW, never had a missing stay with Hyatt !

I've found Bonvoy has gotten better at stay posting in the past few months. Many stays actually posted overnight.:tu: There must have been a system upgrade.

Because of problems like that in the original post (OP), I always request a paper copy of the receipt / folio upon checkout, even for award stays.

If the stay hasn't posted in ten days, I scan it to a portable document format (PDF) file and send it in.

Mine have been a bit more timely, but not at all accurate. And yeah, Marriott is making it a pain to get any resolution.
Made worse when there are multiple promotions in effect. Trying to fix one thing just leads to mistakes with others.
(Trying to get base points corrected and they took back bonus points as well).

Last time the agent from the Titanium line just issued some points as a "Goodwill adjustment" instead of trying to fight thru the mess.
