+1 I only see the modify option for cash bookings in the Android App. To modify a points booking, I have to use the website. It has been that way for a long time (> 1 year).

Sally Port Agreed, Marriott making it more difficult to modify points reservations sucks. Not much we can do about it other than be aware of the limitation and workaround it. YMMV...

I usually use the website. Rarely use app on cellphone. In Feb., last year I did use the app to make modification on point booking, but it was to change the date, while points required were the same.

Well, the website hasn't been working for at least 3 days to modify a reservation. I finally gave up and canceled my existing reservations and booked new ones since both had a 4000 pt decrease and I didn't want to miss out on that. The unfortunate thing is the cancellation deadline is now 7 days vs 2 days on my original reservations.

This isn't an issue of it not working, but rather how you've had to modify award bookings for a long time. To the extent someone in this thread suggested otherwise, I believe they were mistaken.

Not sure what you're saying. I've literally modified hundreds of bookings on the website (some of the them being the same reservation being modified up to 20 times as the price kept decreasing) while keeping the same confirmation number. As of 3 days ago, I get the following error message on the very last step where I confirm the modification.

It's definitely not working right now.

(The latest discussion was whether it could be done on the app, and the answer is no. You can't modify a points reservation on the app, but you can cancel it.)

Hmmm.... That is a rather bad turn of events. I haven't tried to modify a points reservation for a few weeks. So I don't any recent data points. margarita girl sorry to hear you're having so much trouble! It shouldn't be this hard...

And it’s working again! Whew. I just had a 3K point decrease on one reservation and 7K pts on the other. (These are 5 night reservations for Jan BTW. Hoping to see many more decreases before we get there.) :)
