Concurrent reservation

Hi All,
I've made a rewards reservation 10 days out at our first choice hotel in Asia, but we're travelling as three adults and the current arrangement is two twin/small double beds. The hotel claims the 4' beds can accommodate 2 adults per bed. On further thought now, I'm not too sure if this is a good idea for 6 nights (granted - two of us are not big). I'm platinum and the hotel has family rooms (connecting rooms) and suites with sofa - any of these should work better, but given the duration of stay, chances of upgrade might not be good? So, I'm thinking of making another rewards reservation at a different hotel with larger beds just in case. This would also give us time to think it over more. The reservations are cancellable two days out. I've never done this before. Is this allowed by the system? Has anyone used these small double beds before for two adults? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I've got no info on the beds (but that does sound miserably small), but you will have no problem with concurrent reservations. Just make sure you cancel before the cancellation penalty applies, and hold onto your cancellation email just in case the system flakes out (as has happened to others here).

Booking 2 at the same time is not a problem. I have done it many times when I am not sure where we will stay, but I dont want prices to go up.

You definitely need to cancel one of them or else it will cause you too many headaches

Thank you DJ_Iceman and Schnit for the advice! I do worry about possible "unintended" consequences with cancellation, so I'll be vigilant with record keeping.
