I remember SPG used to allowed that (yes, I'm a dinosaur). Has Marriott got rid of it?
they do but now the dates must all be the exact same for all 3 rooms to get points for them. see their policy on this..

earn points on multiple rooms.

I booked two rooms directly with Marriott, one 4 days, one 3 days (the 1st night of second room was booked third party due to DL Amex credit), I did not get the points for the 2nd room (only the first room with 4 nights is posted to my Marriott stay history). So I submitted a missing stay request for the 2nd room. Then I got a reply saying the 2nd room doesn't qualify because the check-in and check-out dates must be same as first room for the 2nd room to earn points. I was like ...? why the 2nd room has to have same check-in check-out date to earn points?

I am really confused why this is the case? Why would they care if second room have to have same checkin checkout dates?

Sorry that you weren't aware, but it's the new policy since Aug 30/23.

why would they force member to book room with same check-in-check-out date to get points for multiple rooms? I dont get it... what would they benefit from this? it would only force member to book second room entirely from a third-party travel agents, which means they'll pay more commissions.

If you go back and read some of the discussion, I think this new policy is to simplify the way points are calculated and avoid errors. You can book multiple rooms under one reservation but they just have to be the same length. There is an example given in the wiki which is exactly your situation with one 3 night and one 4 night reservation.

You won't have to book all three rooms at the same time, their dates will just all have to match. They've always already had separate confirmation numbers. Furthermore, this doesn't mean you can't have rooms with different lengths of stay, it means you'll have to break up the reservations a little. For example, if you want one room for three nights and one room for four, you'd make two three night reservations and one 1 night reservation.

F**K.... i would have done that if i knew they have a weird policy like this....

I don't know forcing guests to break up reservations really simplifies things.... not sure what they are thinking.

There always were posting issues before this change. Why fix the IT when you can make the policy match the crappy IT

For reference, I booked 2 nights, 3 rooms at the Westin downtown Tampa. All 3 rooms were properly credited for points, even bonuses.

Do I get spend credit for both rooms on one reservation?

If I book two rooms under the same reservation, do I get spend credit for both rooms (for Ambassador status), or only just that one room?

Thank you

While you only get Elite Qualifying Nights (EQN) for one room, yes, you will get the points and spend credit for both rooms, as long as the length of reservations for both rooms is identical.

Beaucoup BONV°Y!
