. As for the spend, I'd think your spend on both rooms should count.

it has for me. both multiple rooms int he same booking, and seperate bookings.

A few questions about Ambassador qualified expenditure.
1.
Do you need to do anything while check in? Meaning you telling the front desk that charge the other room to my room even it is different reservation?

2.
And also, another scenario.
My upcoming reservation is 1/25~26, 1/26~29, 1/29~31.
My colleague reservation is 1/25~31.
If I pay for his room, will I get the Ambassador qualified expenditure? Or it has to be the same check in and check out?

Thank you

1. No
2. All rooms have to have same check-in and checkout dates.

The question for #1 was do all rooms need to be on the same reservation for the Ambassador to get credit. Are you sure about this? Before the pandemic I was Amb and certain hotels told me that unless the rooms were on the same reservation they would not give credit to someone paying but not on the reservation. Check in/out dates were all the same, so no issue there, but the reservations were different.

Question 1 was asking if anything additional needs to be done if both rooms have OPs Bonvoy account, and the answer is no.

Additionally, all rooms are always on their own reservation. Even if you book them at the same time, each room always has its own confirmation number. Booking them at the same time or at different times makes no difference in obtaining credit for both.

1) It never hurts to be proactive. Ask the frost desk if your Marriott number is on all the reservations. Also, mention you will be paying for all of the rooms. Also, verify with the frost desk that they will be submitting the points for the stay for all rooms upon checkout.

2) I know somebody else answered this. Here is the official rules when it comes to earning points on multiple rooms: https://help.marriott.com/s/article/Article-22685. Note that separate reservations are okay, as long as all the rules are met.

That puts a cap at 2 additional rooms for a total of 3. I ran into a Le Meridien in Jiuting Shanghai China who refused more than 1. My Ambassador could not get them to respond to her request to correct it. So we gave up in the end.

This is not up to property discretion and can be fixed by your Ambassador if you have the folios for all rooms, without the property being involved.

True, on separate confirmation #s, BUT when they combine on one folio, then expect only the stay & the points to post of just one room. Thus another missing stay request, which takes about 3 emails in 'english'

My question is specific to qualifying spend. Not as concerned about the points maxing out for three rooms or the EQN for my personal room. But if I have a large room block say 20 rooms and I pay for it, does all that count towards qualifying spend?

I assume there has to be some folks who book events out there that run into this pretty frequently?
