Disabling two-factor auth

I don't remember ever turning this on, it's annoying when I want to get a quick rate quote, and I can't find a way to turn it off.

Is this possible, or is this Marriott's way of dealing with their data breaches?

Could you give a little more info on what is happening and where ?

I wonder if it is why I am experiencing the following. I can only log into my Marriott account if I get a six digit code. The code has to be sent to me by email; it won't work as text. I can have accessed my Marriott account in the past five minutes and still need to get a new code. It's time consuming and annoying. By contrast, my husband can access his account with no additional code required.

It's very annoying and I am glad the OP brought it up.

The annoying part is surely that the IT isn't quite working properly (whether Marriott or your own cookie settings), not the actual existence of additional security.

Or is it now "who cares if I get hacked because they will refund my points?"

Would you clarify please?

So every time these users access their accounts?

Does it apply to the app as well?

For me, every single time I access my account on my computer I have to go thru getting a 6 digit code by email.

I am able to access my account on my phone without doing this.

I wonder if there is some points level for which the computer authentication is required? I have a substantial amount of points. My husband is not required to authenticate his account. He has minimal points.

That is certainly inconvenient and undoubtedly quite annoying.

I use the website only when absolutely necessary, as the log-in is super buggy even without the need for TFA.

Per dayone, I'd guess it means your account was hacked last year, and his was not.

Agree this must be annoying. For point of reference only, I have around 1.5M in my account but not required this extra step when logging through website or app. If it matters, I reside outside of the US.

Right, my account was possibly compromised but not hacked. OK then. I'll use the mobile/tablet app going forward.

Did you ever get a resolution to this issue? It is very annoying and I'm having the same issue.

Did you ever get an answer? 2 step verification

Did you ever get an answer on how to disable the 2 step verification? It is very annoying.

Nope. I just avoid using the web UI in favor of the mobile app.

If anyone still looking for how to disable it's right on Marriott's site here and worked for me:

How Do I Set Up Two Step Verification For My Marriott Bonvoy® Account?

Scroll down to see how to disable.
