Wouldnt be an issue if properties set some rooms aside permanently feather free. That certainly would help. I know my daughter in law has an allergy to cats and dogs like noone else I've seen. Within 10 mins of being in someone's house with pets, she starts with the runny nose and red eyes. Then you can see red splotches on her skin. She will take benadryl and has tried shots. If people has a similar reaction to feathers, that would be misery. But as mentioned above, I have the opposite issue, I can't use foam without neck problems.

The problem would be that these presumably would be base level rooms, and probably in bad locations too.

See my post 24, above. This does exist, and the property we stay in (which I'm sure is not unique) has the same block of rooms feather-free on every floor, both sides of the hall, if you prefer one view over the other

I've certainly stayed in FourPoints with feathers.

Well, why not just ask if they have any other yes of pillows?

...because non-feather pillows suck? Foam / down alternative / poly-fill pillows just don't do it for me.

Does foam pretty much mean poly fill to hotels? In all my requests for foam pillows I've never had a memory or latex single-piece foam pillow that most people would expect at a big box store or bedding store. Not even a shredded foam pillow. All the foam pillows are really down alternative polyester fiber fill pillows. I'm wondering if anyone has ever come across a proper foam pillow in their requests.

Personally I prefer firm single-block memory/latex foam pillows to pretty much everything else. Shredded latex foam pillows are also acceptable. But poly fill and down are both simultaneously too lofty and flatten out too much for me to find comfortable. But I've never encountered a true blocky foam pillow in a hotel so the best I can do is stack two "foam" poly fill pillows on top of each other.

That's pretty much what I've experienced. Hard to be certain what it is until I wake up totally clogged. Or not.

I believe I did get proper solid block memory foam pillow before.
IIRC, St Regis Singapore, The Capitol Kempinski Singapore, and So/Sofitel Singapore provided solid memory foam pillow as my parents request them on reservation.

I like feather/ down pillows, so for my other stays by myself I never request other type of pillow.
