Reviving this thread for an anecdote:

Stayed at the Sheraton New Orleans on a rate through Delta Stays because I got a rebate. I was surprised at checkin when the agent immediately offered me Gold benefits (upgrade and late checkout). She confirmed that they already had my number. I had hopes that they might accidentally give me points for the room.

Alas, was not to be. I got points on incidentals, and the 500 point bonus, but that's all. I think this was actually a really good way to handle elites on third-party reservations. By giving them the benefits, you're acknowledging them, but by not giving points on the rate you're noting that this kind of discount rate is not eligible. I've never actually been given the late checkout before, and it came in very handy on this trip, as my flight was late in the day.

It's a 110% YMMV thing as it is up to the hotel if they want to take the extra miles. The Sheraton in NOLA is pretty generous in honouring elite benefits - stayed there 2 years ago and they allowed us to take the breakfast in the restaurant as well as in the lounge.

Did you earn an elite night credit? I ask because I’m also thinking about booking through Delta because of the credit. Thanks!

Reviving this thread to ask a couple of questions. I am considering a stay at the Westin Princeville in Kauai using DeltaStays. I was thinking about taking advantage of the promotion for MQD's. I am ambassador this year and have already qualified for Titanium. I do not see a push for ambassador again as it honestly wasn't anything special.

1. I understand that there will be no points or enc for the stay. I am assuming this is still the case?
2. How likely is it they will offer breakfast or other elite benefits?
3. Are there other drawbacks to using DeltaStays?

I need the MQD's so I am inclined to use the DeltaStays portal. But I generally just book direct so I have zero idea what I am in for. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have booked via Travel Perk and always get the points/nights.

I think it depends on brand. When I've booked Hotel Collection properties through Amex to use the benefit, I've gotten the full treatment at Hyatt--3 times! At the IHG property (Kimpton), I only got points for incidentals.

Amex Hotel Collection is considered an eligible rate. Not really a DP for third party booking.

No. Because the Kimpton I stayed in and only received incidental points was ALSO Hotel Collection.

You should request the missing points then.
