Marriott points
I have not had any stay at Marriott hotel since Covd-19 occur . Currently, I have 45K point in my account, does anyone here know when the points will be expired. I was told if account has no activity, after 24 months, all the points will expired automatically. I contacted Marriott, but I don't get a clear answer about it. Please advise and thank you.

This property made the change to charge the entire stay as a deposit sometime between 12/22 and 12/31 last year. I was also caught in that (made a a first reservation on 12/22 and one additional night on 12/31 for a stay later this year - the first one there was no deposit charged, the second one was). It seems they have it for every rate what so ever now.
It is disclosed if someone is looking for it, but as it was not a pre-paid rate I did not even thought to look at it. I did cancel the extra night and the money was returned in about a week.

Even if your points didn't expire, you probably want to spend it on a 40k property before the end of the month anyway. After the devaluation 45k wouldn't be worth anything anyway...

Just to follow up, after December 31, 2022, if your account still has no activity, you'll then have until December 31, 2024 to get active again.

New member question -platinum-
So I started Bonvoy beginning 2024 and put IHG be the wayside.
It is February 18th and so far I have: 27 nights stayed, 18 nights ‚Bonus‘ =45 if I stay 5 nights in Marbella in the middle of March at a property will I qualify for platinum? or does all reset in March and I can start all over? I am missing a general wiki on Bonvoy qualification.. thanks, |

Thanks. So what is the hype about ‘resetting’ status early March each year?
