Was there a few weeks ago. SNA accepted, suite itself was great but the hallways smell super musty. Wear and tear visible when you look at things closely.
Platinum and up get the free hot breakfast buffet every morning for two people. I loved it! We will be back later this year, the rates are always great. |
This is easily the most delicious welcome gift I have ever received - every single pastry, chocolate fudge ball, macaron has been fresh and delicious. Plus, it's beautiful and came with a hand-drawn card with my name designed like it was made out of plant branches (not shown for privacy).

I suspect that the prior post by ElevatorEnthusiast indicates that a stay is underway and his post is a teaser for his upcoming review.

David is correct - I just woke up at the W, so a review will be incoming soon (I'm also behind as I have not yet posted my review of the LM). I will be staying at the Waldorf in a few days (where surprisingly I received a 72-hour pre-upgrade to a Junior Suite). A review on that one will also occur on the master thread over in Hilton-ville.

I enjoyed my time at the W Panama - the amazing welcome gift matched with a great bed made for a pretty good stay. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

I believe this was also a first for me - my first Hyundai elevators! Sadly, they did not play a Sonata on either the ascent or descent.

Just finished a quick one nighter here. Checked in at 830am and was pleased that they had my Marvelous Suite (booked base room as usual) ready for me. Funny enough I was more a fan if Ws before I became a Marriott member but the price was too good to pass up on an FHR rate of 260 CAD. Small welcome amenity of chocolates and a cake pop/welcome note. A welcome cocktail was offered and I chose a tasty Panama Sour. It was a Friday night so many of the guests had company over from Habanos (staff and I joked about this throught my stay lol) but nothing sketchy. Drinks are reasonably priced at the bars and the local food wasn't bad from in room dining.
Edit: Was back here for another one nighter (the FHR rate is just too good 😂). Sunday brunch brough out a bunch of people and the nighttime was much quieter, possibkpossibly the roads flooded in the evening. Interestingly enough for the following 2 days as well as my night of stay there were no spa times available. |
At the W for the weekend. Upgraded to a WOW-suite (SNA). Daily rate is 244 USD per night.
Check-in was a breeze. Unlike the Le Meridien, the W actually has a doorman to help with luggage, etc. Taken up to the 15th floor where the lobby is. Very nice receptionist informing me about the hotel and it's services, and she also made a point out of the upgrade :p Suite located on the top floor - 23rd floor. The suite is massive, but there is not much furniture. Feels like an empty warehouse, but with great views. Nice, huge jet tub with tv - in the corner of the suite. Comfortable bed. Funny little threats around the room, warning if taking any of the bottles of soap home it will incur a 75 USD fee per bottle. Unlike others, I did not receive any welcome amenity. Despite opening only a few years ago, the rooms shows a lot of wear and tear, due to low quality finishes and fixtures. Some basic stuff is missing, such as slippers and luggage racks. Anyway - I love all the space, and the bed is super comfy. Their lobby bar is rather dull. The pool and the bar is nice though - quite busy, but the pool can be used 24/7, which is a great feature. The bars at this hotel close at 10:30 PM sharp, which I find pretty strange. Room service around the clock, with a very limited night menu. Location is great. A wide range of bars, clubs, cafes, restaurants and shops around the hotel. Service is very good. Staff very responsive and service oriented. One of the better Bonvoy options in Panama. Would I return? Yes! |
Anyone have an email address for the reservations team?
