Was just assigned by Ambassador today, sent him a quick request, and he responded within 15 minutes. So far, so good... now let's see if it holds up.

I requested to not be placed in a wheelchair-accessible room in the future (as you can't select an option in your room preference to exclude them). I've had them a lot frequently, and nothing wrong with the rooms in particular, but I always end up having issues with my shower that I'm trying to avoid. I'd hate to ask for this at check-in each time as I don't want it to come off wrong.

i dont think that word means what you think it means. it isnt like he is going to tell him to request a new one based on her looks (or maybe he would but he didnt there)

regardless, was it sexism because you flirted with the food manager based on his looks? https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30153315-post596.html

Asking whether an Ambassador is attractive on a thread devoted to the Ambassador service is pretty inappropriate and sexist to me.

Recounting in a review what I actually did while staying at a hotel isn’t the same thing. That is a false equivalency. It isn’t sexist to flirt with someone I did think was attractive. Nor is it sexist to mention that I had done so. I didn’t ask anyone to rate anyone else.

My ambassador retired August 31.

Like others, I received an email today from my new ambassador, who looks to have a background at Marriott working on the property side.

Nice email but no powerpoint, questionaire, or opt-in info.

For the posters who referenced that -- is your account EU based? Presuming this is a GDPR issue regarding exchanging information with the property.

And ... as to the comment above, the priorities people have heard about sound nice and I hope they are right.

That being said, absent a call by an ambassador, SPG properties don't know whether someone has an ambassador because that information (or different levels of plat) is not in the reservation on the SPG Lightspeed system. On the Marriott side, it is there for the hotel to see in the Marsha system, but they have not (other than in one case) noted in the couple hundred stays with Marriott since having an ambassador. That being said, some GM's at legacy Marriott properties track incoming PPE's and upgrade them in advance. Others don't. I've had five stays in legacy Marriott properties since August 18 -- most have recognized that I am a PPE but no reference to having an ambassador. Consistent with my pre- August 18 suite upgrade rate at legacy Marriott properties, two of the five stays involved upgrade to excellent suites. The other three, I was preupgraded to the concierge floors but not offered a suite (these three hotels were in the range of three suites and three hundred rooms -- lots of threes!)

So ... I continue to be under the impression that neither legacy MR nor legacy SPG properties will know or do anything by virtue of having an ambassador status -- since they don't know -- unless the ambassador contacts the property often at the behest of the guest. BHR seems to contact his ambassador regularly and ask for their assistance and they contact the property. In my case, I have 105 actual nights YTD with 80-90 stays, and I my case I don't have time to reach out to my ambassador 90 times a year. Of course, I was pre-August 18, still getting excellent upgrades at legacy MR properties as a PPE so hoping it will continue despite the significant increase in PPE numbers post August 18.

And I certainly share BHR's hope that his upgrade priority list is correct.

but rating the attractiveness of another marriott employee like you did in the same ambassador thread is fine, just because you were doing a review of a stay? by the way, your original response called it sexism not sexist (which doesnt make any sense).

im fine if hotel reviews going forward on FT will include how attractive the employees are on any given stay but something tells me that wont last long.

maybe as further posters share with us about their ambassadors they will just say how darn cute/hot/adorable they are in their original post to save people from asking and better align with the bar you set in reviewing employees on a personal review level.

Hi smgainey,

We would like to help contact the Ambassador team for you if you could provide your account number to us via private mail here or by email below. If you could also provide the hotel name and dates when standard room is available for cash but not available for award reservation, we would look into this as well.

Thank you, Christina! I sent an email and within a day I heard from my Ambassador! Somehow the system had not notified him that I was assigned to him, but it's all cleared up now. Anyway, he was able to take care of my reservations. I'm not sure how...one of the hotels seems to have opened up their standard rooms for points, but the other still hasn't. Oh well, at least he fixed my reservations. Thanks. 😊

Ah and forget to mention the crappy powerpoint enclosed with ambassador picture and informations about her tastes, etc... (who cares???) and of course not up to date, it's a Starwood document )))
They are really bad... sorry to be rude, but this company is really a crap hole.

its quite interesting if they continue with these details about the assigned ambassador.
Members can at least put a face to the person that they will speak to either by email or phone.
And if the interest are closely matched, the ambassador might can provide more detailed suggestions about that.

Btw, 6 days from the email, I still havent receive email from the ambassador team about who will be my ambassador.
But since I dont have any travel plan that involve marwood property next month I can wait without issue.

They will escalade the bug but sounds that we got a marriott IT miracle here, they assign new ambassador in the marriott side to ex-SPG ambassador guests... creating confusing and mess.
Waiting for the supervisor email with explanation and "who is my ambassador" and will report here.

anyone in the same situation?

Any chance to keep both ? especially if they are based on different time zone :D

I tend to believe the same due to what I saw in Residence Inn Anaheim. They have Welcome note on receptions that shows the name of the elites who will be checkin in that day and the list goes up to PPE only.

And I certainly share BHR's hope that his upgrade priority list is correct.
I will report back when I have another stay at St Regis Singapore. (I should be classified as Returning Ambassador now after stay there 6 times in a year :D)
Most likely in November

I'm European so I'm not shocked by your question ;) but to be honest, as I consider my relationship with hotels and airlines as a business relationship : I don't care, I want professional and efficient people in front of me, other things do not matter.

but, as you asked : not my style ))

would be nice for me (one in Europe / one in Asia) but... as it sounds that the system does not display any but they are two, I would prefer the marriott world first class IT team to fix it ;)

It's not a sexist question, it's a "men having a beer" kind of question and bringing nothing on the ambassador topic.
Congrats for the flirt with the hotel guy ;) I will read the review sounds interesting )))

We have contact!

Spoke with my new ambassador today. I think I hit the jackpot as she's a 10 year vet, 9 as an SPG ambassador.

We had a rather lengthy call that was quite informative. In addition to explaining the benefits, she helped me with a few issues on my spouse's account. She, by a wide margin, is the most knowledgeable Marriott representative to whom I've had the pleasure of speaking.
