Points Reservation?

Did I miss it or does this property not allow points reservations anymore? I've been looking to book it but can't seem to find a single day where they take points reservations?

Hi cpsri99,

We have checked and there were points redemption available for some dates in September, November and December, 2019.
We would suggest you to check points redemption availability using the Flexible dates function.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

Best Regards,

Clear your cache, log out and back in and try again.

I booked just a short while ago for an award stay over a long weekend in May 2020. No problems at all.

Ditto -- I also booked after my post above for a weekend in June 2020

As in holiday weekend? That would be Bottlerock time - FYI.

Point taken -- I'm sold. Sitting on large pile of Marriott is a fool's game -- and I always tell my wife that all my travel ultimately benefits her when we travel and get to have flights / hotels / upgrades so here is a prime opportunity to put my money (err Marriott points) where my mouth is.

Now the question is just whether to book the "Estate View" room or the "Superior Room" -- on the face of things the Estate Room costs more money if paying cash but don't see anything about the superior room in this thread so not sure if that room is better or worse

I'd definitely go with the estate view room. I believe the "superior room" is upstairs in the house. I've not seen the room, but if you look on the website you can see it is a materially different room (and I believe does not have the all important fire pit). Other than the six rooms in the house, the rest of the rooms are all the same (other than the suites) with the only difference being the view. The Estate View room is very pleasant unless you are a very very light sleeper as you can sometimes get noise from the main road. My wife is a pretty light sleeper and has never had a problem though. And, while i hate that some hotels put non-suites in the SNA pool, this is a rare spot where the vineyard view is a material upgrade so depending on other uses, you should consider using them here.

One other note...if you have hyatt points and were OK with the drive from downtown Napa, the Andaz is way better than the westin. But this seems like a no brainer to stay at the alcobas.

Enjoy! Alcobas is the best of the Bonvoy bunch by far in the Napa Valley.

So which room should we avoid when booking and which rooms should we try to use our SNAs for with good views (anything that says vineyard?), thanks!

how is the deluxe vineyard view on ground floor?

Is this property making up room categories to block points redemptions?

Seems really shady

Remind me on the SNA. If I select Vineyard View AND Junior Suite and both are available at the 5 day window will the system automatically allocate to the Junior Suite or there is a risk it would go with the Vineyard View when the Junior Suite was really available? That is my only hesitation at this point.

When William (Lurker) was still here he checked and confirmed that SNAs clear in the highest available room first. However (as with any black box) YMMV

For reservations made on or after January 1,2020 valet parking is now $30. The hotel front desk said they'll honor complimentary valet parking for reservations made before that date.

And let me guess...still no self parking option?

Just got back from a trip including a stay here and just want to say I can't say enough positive things about this place. Aside from an absolutely amazing hard product, the service was excellent throughout the stay. Stayed on points and used SNAs to be upgraded to a vineyard view upper floor, and even though it isn't technically a full suite I would burn SNAs for that view and the balcony over a suite at 90% of the Marriott portfolio quite happily if I had the chance again.

I would also say that I thought the prices for food and ancillary things were all reasonable - even laundry Wash/Dry/Fold service was available for something like $5 a pound instead of the ludicrous per item charges at most luxury properties. The only nitpick was that they were not able to honor late checkout, but given how small the property is and that it was an upgraded room I don't think that was unreasonable, and they set expectations appropriately.
