Apparently the Kul Kul Bar by the beach opened the 18th of April, leaving the Arwana Restaurant as the last outlet under construction. Still curious to hear if anyone has stayed there since Kul Kul Bar opened, to understand if it is pleasant enough to be there or to use the beach while Arwana is still under construction.

Stopped by Kulkul Beach House for a cocktail. Very, very nice little bar that still gives discounts (15%) to members Plat&Over. Staff said the construction will be done mid-June. It's pretty noisy on the beach and, as the work zone is directly behind one of the main beachfront stretches where sun loungers are set up, these are completed empty some days (1st pic). While the bales and sun loungers closer to Kulkul were mostly full. I imagine it would be a bit of shitfight for a spot away from this incessant banging and sawing, so would definitely cut into fully enjoying the beach -- for me. Definitely look forward to staying here when the construction is done, although signs up at the Westin indicate renovation will be happening in the wing closest to Laguna.
EDIT: Above-mentioned renovation at neighboring Westin is on a poolhouse bathroom stall, not a guest wing, so I don't think anybody at Laguna will be too bothered with that :D

What is the breakfast policy for Platinum guests?

My wife rang the front desk today and they told her that platinums don't get free breakfast. As a Luxury Collection property, I would have expected breakfast as one of the choices for platinum welcome gift.

We always received free breakfast as platinum but it is usually as welcome amenity instead of points, so perhaps something was lost in translation

Both of my last Marriott stays in Bali, FDA's made a point to state: "now, your rate does not include breakfast, but as you are our platinum member..."
It's a script they've rehearsed/been briefed to recite to hammer home the message that breakfast isn't free; rather, one of the wonderful welcome amenities elites can choose from and by doing so, waive any and all claims to 500 points or a fan. Yes, you'll get breakfast at Laguna when you choose it over whatever other options (points, "local gift") you'll be happy to leave on the table.

Any recent experiences at the Laguna now that the renovations should be completed?

Anyone with recent info on the breakfast situation (Titanium here) based on the poster above-- and how it's going in general at the hotel, post renovations? Thanks.
