Will be there this wknd 19-Aug until 22-Aug
Flying down to Bogota from Medellin for a change of scenery. If anyone else is around, let me know. I will leave a trip report next week. It has been a long while since I’ve stayed at the W hotel, looking forward to it!

Great stay
Arrived a little after 11p on a Thursday, check in was prompt, no line. Front desk lady was nice, if a little aloof. No acknowledgement of status (Titanium), but we were upgraded to a very nice Marvelous suite. Breakfast was included in my corporate room rate so I was offered 1000 points. No mention of a welcome gift, however there was some golden chocolate sculpture we never ate waiting for us in the room.
Rooms types seem to be as follows: Wonderful, Spectacular, Fabulous, Studio Suite, Cool Suite, Marvelous Suite, Fantastic Suite. The hotel was busy at this time, in wind down mode from the live music hosted on Thursday evenings. The room itself was quite spacious, with a huge tub in the bedroom area. Breakfast was on the third floor, and included everything they had to offer. Never got a chance to check out the spa with dehydration pool. One thing we definitely enjoyed was the night brunch on Saturday. Make sure you make reservations early for this and have them sit you in the bar area. For 149,000 cop (approx $40usd at today’s fx rate), you are treated to a very plentiful buffet and bottomless beers, gin and tonic‘s, margaritas. The music was good, the crowd was pretty and the vibe was very Latin sexy. But the highlight by far was the VIP treatment they gave us because we were guests of the hotel. The head chef personally checked in on us multiple times during the evening offering to make us anything on the regular menu or anything bespoke if we were not satisfied with the options available. He made me shrimp tacos. another suggestion if you happen to be here on a Sunday. Go across the street to Carrera 6 and do check out the outdoor market that gets set up which runs for approximately 10 blocks. Really, really lovely. |

Loved this property. Just concluded my two day stay. I posted this in the Facebook group, so apologies if this is a repeat review for yourself.
Booked this for 30K points/night. Given cash rates of around 184 USD/night, it wasn't the best value. I used two SNAs to confirm an upgrade to the Marvelous suite as this was an important stay for myself and didn't' want to rely on complimentary upgrades. Check-in was prompt. Arrived at 11AM and was told room would be ready at 1PM. Hung out in the W Lounge and when dropping off bags at 12:30 to head out, I was told the room was ready. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7e53e59308.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2c03031234.jpg Platinum welcome gift. A chocolate "castle", with five cholate balls hidden inside. They forgot to bring this to me at 12:30, but when I arrived back at 11PM, it was here. I was going to inquire, so good to see. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0596adae49.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...cbd7ebb166.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...67eed43370.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...46ab3c7103.jpg Overall, loved it. TVs sucked and the remotes were awful. Couldn't get anything to work!! Seems to be a common complaint. Gym was huge, lots of equipment. Staff spoke great English (a necessity for my essentially zero Spanish). Will be staying here next time! |
I usually pass on W's but this one interested me... Would anyone here pick it over the FS/JW with the price difference? I'm very curious if anyone had the chance to use the spa/hydro pool. Like others stated upthread, so nice to have so many choices in Bogota!!! I'm surprised lol

The W has a much bigger gym but the pool is basically the same as the JW. The W also is generally $80-100 cheaper than the W so if you’re not using points, and want to save money, the W may be a better choice - although I like the Autograph Collection that’s pretty much across the street from the JW for a cheaper option. |
Extreme Wow Suite
Just wanted to share the Presidential Suite of this property. Fantastic room. I wasn’t upgraded to this room I have only ever been upgraded to the Wow Suite ( Vice Presidential Suite ) and that was 3-4 years ago.

I finished my second stay here this week and really enjoyed it, again. I booked the least expensive room, applied an SNA, and was upgraded to a Fantastic Suite at T-5. This was a one night stay on a Sunday check in. Last time I stayed here I was upgraded to a Marvelous Suite on an FHR rate. The main differences between the Marvelous and Fantastic suites are that the Fantastic has a much larger living room, an actual desk, and the bathroom can be sectioned off from the bedroom with a floor to ceiling curtain, where as in the marvelous suite the bathtub and sinks are oddly in the bedroom as shown in loganre17's pictures above.
I arrived early from the airport. My room was available at about 11:15 am and was given a 4pm checkout for the next day without any issue. I requested a bucket of ice and some wine glasses from them over Whatsapp and it was delivered promptly when requested that evening. Breakfast was excellent, as it was last time. I love the wide selection of juices they have, the banana bread was delicious, and the eggs benedict with ham was very good. Overall, I was very happy with the stay. As long as I continue to have a very amenable corporate rate here, this will be my go to property in Bogota. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...bde9e26fb2.png |
Yep, the W was pretty wonderful! Though, a less-than-great breakfast kept it from being amazing. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Cons:
Back from two stays at the W Bogota in early July 2023:
Gym is excellent - new equipment, super clean, tons of machines. Used it every day. Bar has interesting cocktails. Didn't eat at restaurant other than breakfast. Area is pretty safe, lots of security in hotel, and it's a short Taxi or Uber (both THROUGH the Uber app) to Zona Rosa T for excellent name-brand shopping & great restaurants/bars, or into downtown Bogota. I didn't have any major traffic issues to/from Downtown Bogota. The airport took up to an hour on all 4 trips, so plan ahead if near peak hour. There's also a large supermarket nearby to get supplies and plenty of ATM's.
