Stayed there last night. At checkin, they forgot my PAG, but called me after i got to my room to offer either points or a free breakfast. The lobby lounge is beautiful, the bar/restaurant is ok with good food and great service. No internal gym, they give you a pass to a commercial gym around the corner. From 6 to 10p only. Hardly any power outlets in the room, only found one on the desk on the opposite side of the room to the bed. The worse thing i found though was that it was if they had just pushed two single mattresses together to make their queen size. i found myself falling down in the crevice. would have expected much more for the price of this hotel. car pick up from LHR is really too much 115/125 pounds to/from.

Thanks for the update on the property. I would not have been thrilled about the mattress situation. Not sure why you didn't do the HEX/Uber or HEX/cab, as that was cheaper. But reading above you wanted 'easy'. Even the Uber would have been 80-100quid based on LIT's input. BTW - did you collect on the PAG guarantee?

Cheers.

i'm fine paying the car service for most my hotel stays but thought this one was a little excessive. I got the points for my PAG.

To add a data point, I'm about to check out of this property...

I got "upgraded" to a small room with a queen bed, so it seems this property does as many others do with regards to classifying their rooms. Told no suites available even though they are for sale online.

My queen bed was not two twins pushed together, but rather an actual queen sized bed, and a very comfortable one at that. Linens on bed and in bath are all top notch.

As platinum, was given coupon for two free drinks at the bar, and the option of 1250 points or free breakfast. The options were the same two mentioned in one of the first posts about this property years ago. Delicious but time consuming.

Other notes: stunning lobby, great bathroom hardware, thick walls, amazing blackout curtains.

This is my first-ever time in London, so I have no basis for comparison, but I would stay here again on the basis of old-fashioned charm. Reminds me a little of Essex House in New York.

couldnt agree more. just finished 4 nights last week. Great hotel, has that "old-fashioned" feeling to me. And fully agree, the queen bed did feel amazing. Will certainly try to stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Has anyone stayed at Threadneedles recently? I have an 8-night stay coming up at this property; this is a work trip, and am hoping the beds and linens are still good.

How was your stay and what brand of bathroom amenities do they provide?

UKTraveller4Fun Jun 12, 2019 11:35 am

Stayed here a couple of times this year so far and must say the property was excellent! I cannot remember the bathroom amenities they provide but they seemed good and above average! Only issue I had was the aircon wasn't great but this maybe was the room I was in rather than anything else! On the plus could open a window which was nice!

Really enjoyed the breakfast I must say!!

You see I am a stickler for the Bvlgari amenities over at the JW though rather incovenient for where i need to be next week...

It is, or was, a good hotel when I was last there in November 2017. I just tried booking again for a work trip in November this year, and the price had gone up by 50%? Thanks but no thanks.

Thinking about a 5 night award stay for wife and I. But the "luxury" room offered with points appears tiny. Based on your experiences at Threadneedles, what are the chances of an upgrade to a larger room or a suite? (Have Titanium status)

Can only speak from an Ambassador guest point of view but I have stayed several times and always had very good upgrades. They do from what I tell prioratise upgrades to Ambassador guests and then Titaniums and they do get quite a high number of status guests for the size of the hotel which is small. Overall however I feel if they have a better room / suite available for your stay they will give it to you and wont try and avoid upgrading elites.

I have had several really good stays this year and its become my first choice for when in London!

Do they still give you complimentary gym access at the Virgin Fitness down the road? The hotel website doesn't mention it anymore.

It looks to be listed under the Hotel Amenities Section, so assume it is yes.

Thanks UKTraveller4Fun. Silly me, I was looking at the hotel's own site, not the Marriott one.
