I qualify for a government rate so that is usually my best option at the Sheraton. I did have a points stay at the Sheraton last month and am 99% sure there were no charges on the folio.
The Sheraton website www.sheratonatthefalls.com has some packages that include extras not found on Spg.com. I don't book these often but I have it in writing that they qualify as spg stays. They just may not qualify for promos that require booking on spg.com or the app. Enjoy your trip! I will be at the Sheraton Sunday night. I will send you a PM with 2 contacts at the Sheraton you can ask any questions. |
I just saw the 69 price on the SPG website. I then put it in Kayak.com and saw it for 48. Did a BRG and ended up at 38 and change. Its a no brainer. The Canadian side I stayed this week for 90 CAD and man they have some bogus fees and 18 CAD for parking.
The secret to the parking is to get a Players Card at the casino, gamble a small amount to register in the system and you can park overnight for free. |
The $10 parking charge now appears to be mandatory. Was considering a prepaid rate until I saw the fee automatically added.
Is it common for properties to automatically charge a parking fee for each room booked, whether you need it or not? |

Is it common for properties to automatically charge a parking fee for each room booked, whether you need it or not? 4pm late checkout was offered on the spot without asking. As for the hotel itself, it is a very busy place on this summer weekend. It's very close to Military Rd / Niagara Falls Blvd for shopping (less than 5 minutes), and a 10-15 minute drive to the Falls themselves. The river view rooms have a nice view of the river and the bridge, although on the 4th floor, we had a sweeping view of the roof below! Still nice though. Rooms are fine; hallway carpeting seems a little stained. Lobby feels crowded, especially with the number of guests, but the front desk was very professional and fast. There is an indoor pool, used to the fullest by the kids! We didn't use any of the dining facilities, so can't comment on that. We were the last room on the floor, and wifi was definitely sketchy during the entire stay. For the location, category 2 felt like an absolute bargain for the weekend in the summer. Moving up to a category 3 in the combined reward chart is probably warranted, but of course we loved the 9K Marriott rate now. I'll probably book a another weekend stay or 2 before the award chart changes. |
