Four Points by Sheraton Niagara Falls, NY [Master Thread]

I guess there will finally be an option in the Buffalo, NY area. This was the former Inn on the River Hotel which was in a dilapidated state and actually condemned. Well it will re-open this spring with the 4Points brand attached to it. This should be a new & nice suburban 4Points with a restaurant and meeting rooms. If I was the developer the name would be Four Points by Sheraton Buffalo Niagara Falls, NY since the hotel is "out" of Niagara Falls and fairly close to Buffalo. Just a thought...

Until the former 4P Niagara Falls (NY) was reflagged a couple of years ago (or thereabouts) I used to use that hotel as my Starwood hotel for my BUF trips. While it was about 30 mins out of downtown BUF, it did have cheap rates and reasonably good Plat recognition. The former 4P is now a Holiday Inn.

I always got a great suite upgrade at the former 4P. I was sad to see it go.

Many hotels within a large metropolitan area often have the name of the proper larger city added to their name. In fact the Buffalo metropolitan area is officially called; the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan area. (7001 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY to Downtown Buffalo, NY is 16.6 miles) I would consider that a Buffalo area hotel.

I just had a one night stay here and I have to say that it was THE BEST Four Points I have ever been to. It has a nice restaurant and bar and a beautiful patio area that overlooks the river. Plus, they seem to have enclosed the pool area which makes for a much better environment.

On the negative side, it's not really that close to Niagara Falls. You definitely have to drive 10 minutes to get to the US side of the Falls, let alone the Canada side. But plenty of guests were doing it, so it's clearly not that bad.

I don't make it up this way often, but I've found my go-to Starwood hotel here.

As of last week it costs $20 to park at this property.
In my opinion the location does not warrant a charge.
Charge is waived for Plats.
Website still notes free parking.

Hi gregv,

Can you please provide a link where it says that parking is for free so we can report it?

Thank you.

Under transportation it notes free self-parking.

I've stayed here multiple times over the last several years. The property has flip-flopped repeatedly between being Category 2 and Category 3.

There's nothing in the area to justify charging for parking; it's not a great neighbourhood to begin with and there are no attractions within walking distance and no airport shuttle. What could possibly justify "Self Parking 10 USD per day"?

When you search directions on Google Maps and click on the bus icon you will see the options for public transit. It is possible and seems to take about 90 minutes.

I stay at the BUF Aloft and NF 4P and Sheraton frequently. I like the 4P but stay more at the Sheraton since they are now the same category and I can get similar rates.

There is nothing to walk to from the 4P while the Sheraton has lots of tourist things (but Canadian side has much more).

What month are you going?

I qualify for a government rate so that is usually my best option at the Sheraton. I did have a points stay at the Sheraton last month and am 99% sure there were no charges on the folio.

The Sheraton website www.sheratonatthefalls.com has some packages that include extras not found on Spg.com. I don't book these often but I have it in writing that they qualify as spg stays. They just may not qualify for promos that require booking on spg.com or the app.

Enjoy your trip! I will be at the Sheraton Sunday night.

I will send you a PM with 2 contacts at the Sheraton you can ask any questions.
