Just say to someone working--I am titanium and would like to check in at the lounge and they would show you. It is above the west I am pretty sure. If you get to lounge without an escort waive or knob to get in.

In short, I was not a fan of the Manila Marriott. There were far too many issues and deficiencies, especially for a hotel in Asia. Despite it also not being perfect, I preferred the nearby Sheraton where I stayed last night - impressions coming soon. That being said, here are my impressions of the Marriott:
While I was upgraded to a suite the night before arrival, my room was adjusted back to a base standard room the morning of arrival - okay, fine, whatever. When I arrived, I was assigned a room in the West Wing that faced a roof with ventilation systems and solar panels on the adjacent meeting room building. The walk from the Main Building to the West Wing is just horrid with poor AC and the choice of either stairs or a rickety ADA manual elevator that seemed like it could barely handle my weight. I eat a lot of pizza, but I’m not THAT heavy. I went back downstairs and asked for a room that faced the golf course and city vista - it took an oddly long amount of time for the associate on the phone, but they offered a 5th floor with a “partial” view - it ended up not being that partial - not sure why they were underselling it. They told me that Housekeeping would need to inspect the room and offered a key to the lounge for me to wait. I waited and waited until about 30 minutes went by before I got up and asked the lounge staff if my room was ready. They told me they were told I was wearing a hat, and they couldn’t find someone wearing a hat. I never wear hats. When I got to my room after walking through the very smoky 5th floor hallway, I found that Housekeeping did a poor job inspecting the room and had left covers with red stains (probably makeup) and a hand towel that looked as if it had been run over with a tire. I went back to the lounge with pictures and asked that Housekeeping replace the stained bedding and hand towel. I then went on a 30 minute walk around the mall and casino and upon returning to my room, found that no action had been taken. I had to go back to the lounge to ask again that Housekeeping come up, and they decided to call a supervisor. When Housekeeping arrived, they changed the hand towel but didn’t seem to know I wanted a bedding change. I had to show them the stains (on both sides of the duvet cover). My other big issue was a complete lack of hot water on the morning of departure. I tried to take a bath and then a shower, but there was no actual hot water over the span of the hour in which I tried. There was hot water the night before. When I checked out, the hotel seemed to take about 1500 PHP off of my bill without prompting. They didn’t say why but they did mention it was intentional. My other impressions:
It is probably obvious, but I wouldn’t return. I will not be nearly as verbose. I stayed there a few weeks ago for a couple nights.
I walked from T3 through the Runway Manila bridge at 7am with my Rollaboard and backpack . I was outside for a total of 4 mins to check in. I am a Titanium member, and was upgraded to a golf course view. Very nice staff. I went to the Executive Lounge after a light refresh. I can't fathom any negative reviews of the Executive Lounge at this property. They were incredibly friendly, called me by name by day 2. The breakfast and night offerings were beyond any typical executive lounge I've experienced. Sure, during the daytime there are only snacks and coffee/sodas, etc. The space is quite large. I never felt cramped at all. I had breakfast 3 days in a row. Breakfast hours 6-10:30. Nightly drinks and apps (and then some) lasted for maybe 4 hours per night? Real close to the massive mall with all the food/shopping you can imagine. Also, Starbucks a 4 min walk (at the Belmont hotel area), which incidentally was nicer than most Starbucks in the USA. I felt 100% safe walking the street areas. Regarding the room, it has the "used to be very nice and is starting to feel old" vibe. Lots of marble...a bit gaudy for me. Not contemporary. Toilet had a slight "drain" smell. Shower pressure and temp were excellent for me. Bed was fine, more on the firm side. Room was giant, with bedroom and separate living area and kitchen table area. |

Just want to say thanks to ElevatorEnthusiast Your reviews have been a big help to me and we seem to travel to a lot of the same places!
I did a one night stay in the Manila Marriott in November and it was a pretty mixed bag. Room was in the West Wing and the lounge manager claimed it was an upgrade, but I am not so sure. It was a standard room overlooking the street, not even the golf course. I was Titanium at the time, so quite disappointing to not even get a room with a better view. Location is walkable from T3 via the bridge, but we took a Grab as we had a lot of luggage and a baby in tow. Lounge was okay in my opinion. A big open space, wasn't crowded and okay snacks and drinks during evening cocktails. Had breakfast in the main restaurant and it was an absolute zoo. Food was mediocre and it was almost impossible to get a coffee due to the staff being so busy. There is a decent walk between the west wing and the main building, and as we had a stroller, there was only this slow wheelchair lift to go up and down the stairs, which was not ideal. Overall, the price was high for the quality of the hotel, was pretty disappointed with my "upgrade", the breakfast was not great, and the rooms not that comfortable. Won't be back. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...868573cd2d.jpg |
May I clarify that this thread is for Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts per the Marriott app?
