Would be interested if all of the “see card issuer” problems are Kroger/affiliates are MCGC? Or does anyone have an example of a VGC example of the same issue?

I will try VGC at some point after I get my money recovered from the two MCGC that had an issue this passed week, but wondered if anyone has had issues.

I had never done business at Kroger before. (There are none where I live.) This week I bought one MO at a Smith's in Las Vegas, and two at a Kroger in Louisville, using Metabank cards bought at a Simon Mall. No problems at all.

My Kroger experience: Got declined card with debit on two MCGC acquired from Staples. “Rescued” transaction with Simon VGC, went through fine. In same boat with others awaiting reversal on the MCGC debits.

VGC is fine at DG and FD. However my FD receipt on a $500 loads says “Swiped - Approved for partial amount”.

it was a $500 card and it loaded the full $500. I never recall the “partial amount” message before.

Bear: Were your cards Visas or MCs?

I've been having issues with my MCs at my local liquidation points. Been ongoing for 3 days.

MC is an issue. Check Serve and Kroger threads, they are declining and money is being drained

For those who had MCGCs debited by Kroger but not credited to the MO purchase --

1. Anyone taken any action yet, contacting either Kroger or card issuer?
2. For those who used a Meta/Blackhawk card, what is showing up in the transaction detail, esp. what's showing in the "settlement amount" field?
3. For those whose card was "declined" at POS but completed the transaction with another card, what's on the register tape, i.e,. does the MC L4 show as declined?

Mine was at DG, but I called GCM and they said on day 1 that the transaction completed, yes Settlement Amount shows $500. GCM gave me the 'authorization numbers' too. DG is saying to wait 3-5 business days. Today is business day 4. I'm hoping to see a refund tomorrow on both cards, if not, I'm going to need to open a case with GCM and/or DG.

So after MCGC worked on 10/22, cards were declined on 10/28. Funds were also debited and now GC is blocked because I checked balance too many times. LOL.

The first cards that didn't work were never debited so that is a new change that they are now debited.

They are meta cards from GC.com. I have some VGC from GC.com that I'm going to try today.

I have had multiple issues at Kroger. It seems that, at my local one at least, you can do 4 swipes before I get a decline with a Metabank MCGC decline that drains the funds. I'm at 6 days since I had 3 decline that also withdrew funds. I had an additional incident today. I'll keep you posted. I plan on calling Metabank at 7 business days to see what the next steps are if the funds don't return. A good reminder for you all to hang on to all paperwork and receipts (or at least take a picture!).
