Increasing reports that AMEX 5x on MPX is dead

AMEX Plat 5x (and PRG 3x) may be over. RIP date is estimated at 11 February. A couple of DPs on r/churning including a statement screenshot that shows 1x for MPX purchase using AMEX Plat.

Then there's this not so cryptic post on 15 February:

Has your statement closed for February and the statement is showing only 1x? Or is your comment based upon not seeing the 5x icon in your "recent activity" of the online account?

Another DP from today's daily discussion thread at r/churning:

"Platinum MPX trouble? My statement closed February 16. A February 6 Airbnb MPX gift card transaction coded as Travel - Airline and received 5x. February 11 transaction for Chipotle coded as Travel - Airline and did not receive 5x.

I am looking at my online statement and the individual transaction info."

Dead from my end. My legit airline charges on 2/11 and 2/12 show 5x. My MPX charges on same day are 1x.

Just wonder what the MPX charges show up with Chase CSR. United or the true merchant?

Statement closed. The only purchase I put on my platinum card last month was a $6.45 charge at Walmart, used MPX and I see six points under pending for my platinum card.

That's one less compelling reason to get the personal plat over biz plat. Biz plat way ahead now.

It's also another reason not to use MPX.

Any chance the 5X will post retro? I seem to recall a similar scare of this being dead, but then seeing that it ultimately posted at 5X at a much later time (weeks later).

Sad day. Had just thought of a pretty solid MS scheme that relied on the 5x MR via MPX. In just a few weeks, managed to pull in few hundred thousand points with minimal effort. So it really stings to have something good taken away so fast. But I guess its my fault for getting into this game late, now that all the good stuff is quickly going away.
