bean dump

I only MS to meet minimum spend and good thing I did my AoR this month. Problem is I now have a bag of beans and I can't dump them all into BB due to the 5k limit. I've read many times that there are other ways do get rid of VR's but I can't seem to find the information. I'd appreciate any help and thank you.

Well I figured the VR thread got renamed and has essentially become the CVS thread whose death is only a couple of weeks away. So yes :/

Bean dip? :D

Oh, "bean dump"....hey, it's late, ok?

Interesting question. Interesting answer, anyone?

OTOH, do you not have any margin where you could file those away and do some $2.95 GCs until you make it back to BB time?

Also, have you looked in to JHP? HRB?

My original plan was to hold them until the next month but I don't want the bean dip to go bad

And no I didn't look into JH nor H&R. Will get on that now

I'm typically not a spoon feeder, but since this deal is about dead..

A) Find a friend/parent/significant other to get a Bluebird.
B) Read the H&R Block Emerald Card thread, get one, load/unload 5k - ACH to your favorite bank.
C) Use up your three My Vanilla Debit chances to liquidate
D) Get a JH Preferred Card
E) Read the Wiki in the CVS thread which similarly spoon feeds you.

Among other popular options...

Buy a Netspend card at CVS and then slowly load it with the beans. Be careful though and don't go too fast in loading or unloading as you may get a shutdown. If you have a SO then buy two of those cards.

How much did you buy that you have to sit on?

I disagree.. load Netspend as fast as possible and ACH out the entire balance in one shot. Setup the DD / ACH information as soon as you setup your account. Load $5k. ACH $5k. Shutdown guaranteed! Walk away with a smile on your face.

Wow I didn't know I could get a refund straight from Incomm. I just opened an HR Block Emerald account and am trying to do something with an unregistered MVD as I've already reached my 3 card limit.

How many beans? Well let's just say a lot more than I can handle. I have to do some serious dumping in the next few weeks.

ericdabbs Apr 1, 2014 5:21 pm

so which of the few prepaid cards (Netspend, Paypower, JH, H&R Block, MVD) are the best way to do a one time $5K dump of VRs? Not looking to keep the card.
