Yeah that's what they tried to tell me which is BS. The address I imputed is exactly the same as all my apps and online purchases. I'll experiment with Amex gift card next time but obviously can't do it with my Citi card :rolleyes: |

Yes, my understanding is that it works like Boost. In fact, I think the CC points are also called world points, even if you don't use the mall.

I tried to liquidate a registered AmEx gift card at giftcardmall and was denied with an error message saying that "credit card authorization failed". I received the same message with a different card when trying to order Visa gift cards. I had registered the cards by phone with AmEx, then used them within an hour after registering.
Any tips on how to get this work? Also, how long does this tie up my funds with AmEx since the attempts failed? |
Call AMEX gift cards back and have them read your address back to you. It must match what GCM has on file on your account if you have an account.
Also make sure you are using the 4 digits on the front of the card for verification, not the back. Check your balance on line. If they authorized, it will take 8 days to drop off. |

I also did use 3 digit on back, not 4 digit on front - that's what was asked for - so I will try 4 digit when funds are availible. I may also call AmEx in the interim. Much appreciated! |
