Plink Question

When buying multiple GCs (each GC is over $100) at Staples and ringing them up as seperate transactions, does Plink give 300 points per GC or just 300 points for the overall visit to staples?

300 points per GC. But be careful because it might raise suspicious activities to your CC issuer.

Not to mention that it drives Staples cashiers crazy and give you the evil eye :D

I purchased 10 $200 gc at staples and got the lady to do a split tender on each card, used 2 diff ink bold from same account, got a call from chase. Won't be doing that again haha
It's not worth risking something like that with such a great card issuer like chase.

I made 15 109.90$ transactions at Sears during their promo... all the plink points posted as expected

You created two chase logins for each ink crad just for plink! Wow that is too much work!

I have had to contact plink to manually add points when using my Chase Freedom. They claim that communication between chase and plink is down, yet when I enter my login info, everything seems alright.

Anyone else experienced this ?

I haven't had any points post on my account since 11/6, even though I have had 10+ transactions at Staples.

On a related note, how does Plink handle returns?

I had some transactions (both Staples in-person GC purchases and online GC orders from Kmart) not post. I emailed a copy of my CC statement to [email protected] and I had all my points manually added. They also told me their support team would fix the issue so I wouldn't have trouble with points posting in future, which at least so far has been true. Their FAQ says you should wait 7 days for the points to post then contact them. In my case my statement had just cut when the 7 day period hit, so it was easiest to just send them a PDF of that, but you can also scan and email receipts.

Returns are supposed to (according to their FAQ) lead to the points being taken away like with CC rewards or portal cash back. They should have no problem detecting the return unless you can get the store to give you a refund other than by returning to your CC. You might be able to get a GC with a receiptless return, but stores generally ask for ID when you do this to prevent people from returning shoplifted goods and they will cut you off if you do it too much. Since they give you the points a lot faster than a portal, I'm not sure what would happen if you had a negative balance and stopped using Plink. They might just write it off (though they could probably in theory send your account to collections), but I don't think it's worth it to find out because it's too good of a long-term thing to mess up. I've never personally returned anything that I got Plink points for.

Keep in mind multiple Plink accounts is against their ToC and you could be banned if caught. One transaction for each GC is safe, but multiple Plink accounts so each GC can be split into multiple $60 purchases might be going too far, and in addition to the risk of a ban from Plink, it might lead to Staples deciding to end their relationship with Plink because they have to be losing money paying for 900 Plink points on a $200 GC.

300 points per GC. But be careful because it might raise suspicious activities to your CC issuer.
If it does raise a red flag with the CC issuer, a quick chat with the fraud department where you explain you are splitting the transactions to take advantage of a promotion should clear things up.

Happened every time I changed my account info.

Am I the only one who's not so keen on giving my CC login information out in order to plink? Anybody have any issues so far?

I have been in the information security industry for my whole life. There are two and only two groups of people I have met. People who concern too much about information security and lose something. And people who do not concern enough about information security and lose something. I choose to be the latter, what you choose is up to you.

Email them.

I buy at most 3 or 4 each visit with separate transactions (per GC) and one time 2 separate stores on 1 day. I haven't gotten a call from Chase. Maybe that's under their radar.
