So just to verify (been awhile for the Venmo train for me!) - the only reported functioning fee free debit cards are ST & BOA AS? What about any cash back or generic debit cards that earn bank points (US Bank, BOA, etc.)?

Feel free to pm me. Just looking for a cash/points debit card that will be rewarding for this now that the limit is large again!

Venmo has virtually none customer support.

My account was frozen on Thursday. I emailed them asking how to unlock it. Someone replied my email on Friday @1AM saying that "You account was locked because the system raised a red flag". Didn't mention how to unfrozen it at all. I emailed them back about how to unlock it and no one responded to me so far.

I thought PayPal sucks, seems like I have to change my opinion on PayPal. At least they have a phone number to call.

I agree. They simply do not respond to emails. I had my account frozen. They asked for my government id and credit card, and then simply reversed one of the transactions I made. I tried contacting them by telephone--even calling Braintree (their parent company) and was not able to speak with anyone.

Still don't know why the account was frozen or if it is unfrozen.

Frustrating. At least I got the money back fairly quickly.

What is the threshold for ST debit transactions without raising any flags?

On 10, Sept, 2013. Venmo sent me an e-mail that they partnered with Simple...?

"At Venmo, we're always looking for cool new finance apps. Recently, we discovered Simple: a worry-free alternative to traditional banking. We love Simple's unique customer-first approach and gorgeous modern interface.

After a recent partnership with Simple through Venmo Touch, we're thrilled to announce an exclusive opportunity for Venmo users to join Simple immediately and skip their 250,000-person waitlist."

Paypal bought Braintree. Braintree acquired Venmo last year.

So, Venmo isn't partnered with Simple anymore? It was only ~2 weeks ago Venmo e-mail came?

you won't, swipe and pay - that's all chase (ask you do) cares about :)

only certain debit cards actually code as fee free. The majority don't.

You can also just withdraw your bluebird balance to your checking account and pay your Chase bill from your checking account as usual... no need to billpay.
