Lifetime status
 

Loyaltylobby recently wrote about MH restoring arrival access to Plats. Apparently this includes lifetime Plats who get +2 guests instead of the usual +1. Does anyone know the criteria for lifetime platinum? SQ has lifetime PPS but it’s no longer open to new members, guessing it’s the same for MH?

read this too, would like to know if anyone know about it.

There is none. My guess is that it's new as previously the 'secret' tier was called 'Platinum Plus' which you can see referred to very occasionally in things like the in-flight-magazine or even the old head of Enrich Programs LinkedIn bio. I've not seen reference to Lifetime Platinum before, even accidently, prior to this occasion.

So is there a lifetime Platinum tier in addition to a secret "Platinum Plus" tier? 10 million miles as in butt in seat miles?

I’m not sure about the 10MM and how that’s measured. tbh that’s excessively high given UAs invitation only GS is lifetime at just 4MM.

Standard Platinum
Nominated Platinum
Honorary Platinum
Lifetime Platinum
Platinum Plus
-formerly 130K miles entirely on MH J/F
Govt of Malaysia Platinum
-previously benefited from reduced elite thresholds
Corporate Platinum
-Based on sales relationship with MH

The latter two also has Silver and Gold equivalents. I’m guessing honorary and lifetime are probably discretionary based on influence, so likely high ranking govt officials, royal family, VIPs, etc.

For those that care and hadn't seen - back in June Loyalty Lobby ran a headline "Malaysia Airlines Enrich Platinum Lifetime Status Requirements" and in there quote:

Thank you for your email and sorry for delayed response due to high influx of request received.

Yes, we do. This tier only recently considered.

Lifetime Platinum is offered to Enrich members who have clocked 4,000,000 Enrich Points by travel on pure Malaysia Airlines operated flights since enrolment. Only members who meet these criteria are given the invitation. It is not part of the normal tier status criteria.

Looking at one of the T&C docs for the Mid Tier Booster (abysmal product design btw) I noticed they had a column for Lifetime so they are acknowledging its existence if not publishing the criteria: TNC_ ENRICH_MID_TIER_BOOSTER_01042024.pdf (malaysiaairlines.com)

Just as a point of reference, prior to the transition from Elite Sectors to Elite Points, the qualification for Platinum Plus was 120,000 Platinum Miles (miles earned on F or J) or 110,000 Platinum Miles for GoM or 160 Platinum Sectors. Re-qualification was 100,000 Platinum Miles or 150 Platinum Sectors.

Platinum Plus stems from a previous time where Platinum status was only afforded to those that acquired points in F and J (so called Platinum Points). They then opened up Platinum qualification to regular Y fliers but wanted to distinguish 'old' Platinums and termed that 'Platinum Plus'.

Platinum Plus got additional Bonus Miles (35% instead of 30% for regular Platinum) and ~RM350 of vouchers for their birthday.

At that time Lifetime (and Honorary) were nominated rather than earnt. Per above, Lifetime has been resurrected and is now earnable.

How long do you keep your statements for?
One of my group members has reached out to say that he has been flying extensively since 1998 although there are a few quiet periods. His trips years ago in J were to South America, South Africa, regional and Europe.

The person believes that they have 4million miles or very close to it but like many of us doesn't have all the paper statements or boarding passes from years ago. MH has said that their systems can only go back about 6 years however they are still trying to figure out what the final outcome will be.
Perhaps we need all need to keep such documents going forward due to insufficient Enrich records management.
