MH Cancelling Multiple BKK Flights

For the last few days MH has been cancelling various BKK flights and combining them into single A380 flights. For example:

Today (6 Jul), MH785 (11.05) Cancelled, MH 789 (14.15) Cancelled, MH781 (19:40) Cancelled, MH 783 (17:15) A380 Operating 2 Hours Delay MH 775 (18.40) A330 Operating

Yesterday (5 Jul), MH785 Cancelled, MH775 Cancelled, MH783 A330 Operating 1 Hour Delay, MH789 A380 Operating 1 Hour Delay

4 July, MH775 Cancelled

3 July, MH775 Cancelled, MH 783 Cancelled, MH781 A380 Operating 3 Hours Delay

Has anyone been affected by the above cancellations? I have a flight on Monday on MH783 and connecting to JL 724 (Booking in one ticket in Business Class). Should one of these cancellations happen and I miss my flight, what would be my options? Will MH book me on a direct BKK-NRT flight?

MH’s BKK operations have been a mess recently. I was told even SIN isn’t immune from the A380 subs.

If you’re connecting on one ticket then you’re protected. The BKK staff might rebook you on another airline direct to TYO, if it’s clear that you won’t make your connection at KUL. However, it’s a bit early to tell if Monday’s flights will be affected. Until the cancellations/delays become official (likely on the day itself) there’s nothing you can do.

Several SIN & PEN flights have also been affected this week.
MH624 & MH608 with MH624 cancelled thrice
MH613/MH616 KUL-SIN/SIN-KUL was subbed with A380 yesterday (06/07)

Some flights on Sun 08/07 will be swapped with A333

MH1166 - KUL-PEN cancelled

Looks like there might be some cancelations anticipated for Sunday's BKK flights.

MH 788/789 will be operated by 333, 780/781 by 380, and 782/783 by 332. Seems like a huge increase from the usual 6x738 - I assume they will cancel some 738 flights.

What a bloody, bloody mess. Last week suffered myself as well. I see yesterday and today again it's delays galore.
Such a brilliant job CEO Ismail is doing. So happy they chose to stick to their tribe rather than opt for quality..

6 Jul KUL-BKK MH784 (09:05) was also cancelled. We were rebooked to MH782 (15:10) operated by A380, on time. We also got F seats, paid cheap J ticket BKK-KUL-PEK.

They still hand out old type priority lane passes for BKK. One day they are approved, other day not, depending on officer on duty.

What's "old type priority lane passes"? The brown one? Is there a new one now?

Have the cancellations happened on the day, or have people been notified beforehand?
I have a flight KUL-BKK on 10 Jul, and wouldn't mind being upgauged (currently on a 737).

I got notification email Thursday evening for flight supposed to depart Friday morning.

You may end up waiting a couple of hours if they decide to combine three flights into one A380. Be careful what you wish for :p

I got a notification for a SIN-KUL flight I took a few weeks ago, a few days before the flight. Moved to the next flight 3 hours later, whilst the original flight is cancelled. The new flight, still operated by a 737 ended up full.

As much as I don't like having my flights cancelled, I would be very interested to see an A380 doing SIN-KUL.

Thanks for reply. I hope in the event they cancel, they do book me on direct rather than leaving me stranded in KL. One day to go, lets see what happens tomorrow

I think today they cancelled 4 out of 6 flights.
