New Premium Lane passes at BKK

There’s a new Premium Lane pass in use at BKK when exiting the country - blue and a different design.

I asked the line checker and she said they are being rolled out today and that the old brown ones are no longer being accepted (there’s a sign next to the line as well). She turned away a woman in front of me.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I have two relatively worthless pieces of gold card stock now.

There are new entry ones in place as well. Etihad were using them a week or so ago, although there were still brown/gold ones at the immigration officer's desk.

Thanks for posting. For entry into the country I have some old TG fast track cards (purple ones)...are they still using those? I never give them to the immigration people as they never ask.

I was denied access to the Premium Lane on the 6th as they had already switched over.... something like 70 brown cards will now be my next fire starter.

I've never even seen anyone "handling the line" on entry - only on exit.

There were, at times, definitely staff at the entry to Premium Lane ensuring you are eligible to enter but it was far from 24/7 and mostly during times of huge entry lines.

Yes dsquared37 - seems the IT department didn't quite finish setting up that domain properly!

Last few departures through BKK have had airport staff checking at the entry area. They are not immigration staff, but they were good at checking boarding passes and departure cards and sending people either
- out of the queue to get their stuff in order, or
- to the correct entry point

This has been going on for some years now and isn't related to access for the Premium Lane areas.

Agreed. Probably should have quoted ft101 on that point.
