Looking for the "perfect" beach...

Hi, I am looking for the "perfect" beach, anyone have any recommendations?
My definition of the perfect beach is a beach with white powdery sand, turquoise waters, and of course calm waters (no strong currents).
I've been to Amanpulo so I'm looking for another destination than that.
Thanks!

If you have been to Amanpulo, everything else (that I have seen) will be disappointing. However, my 2nd and 3rd favourites would be Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru's Blu beach and I also loved the Amanpuri beach - or the beach at Four Seasons Seychelles.

Do you mean a hotel with a beach on it? Or vice versa. People here would dismiss many hotels while raving about the beach. For instance, the Mauna Kea on the Big Island comes to mind. Cap Juluca in Anguilla might have the best beach of any hotel in the world but that hotel has an iffy reputation. I don't think you want a beach ruined by overwater bungalows which rules out many places in the Maldives and French Polynesia. I've been to quite a few places over the years and, apart from Amanpulo, the one place that sticks in my mind is the Meridien Hotel on the Isle of Pines in New Caledonia. Beyond stunning. The finest tropical island I have ever seen. The Sandy Beach Resort in Tonga also comes to mind.

In all of our travels, we have found that Anguilla has some of the best beaches. When we go we usually rent luxury villas as opposed to staying at a resort. That being said, design wise, the Viceroy is exceptional.. however their service leaves a lot to be desired. Cap Juluca is on the most goregous beach but most say it would not be classified as luxury at the moment.

The beach at Tulum, Mexico is very nice. Also Trancoso in Brazil.

If you're into Amans, might also try Amanyara in the Caribbean. The waters are clear down to 50ft or so--snorkeling is almost as good as diving there.

This! I would also add Amanyara in the Turks & Caicos.

Beach Club One at the One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives. That's my perfect beach!
