UA award using LH miles.. can airport ticket?

Forgive me if this has been covered, I tried searching but all I was getting was a blank screen.

Anyhow, a friend of mine is trying to use LH miles for an award ticket on UA. The inventory is available, but of course it's the weekend, and the LH mileage desk is closed.

Does anyone know if LH ticket agents would be able to process his award if he were able to visit the ticket counter at an airport that LH serves?

it depends on the airport... @NUE for example, they do.

Is there a list anywhere of airports they can ticket awards at?

The LH call center is available 24/7 and can make award reservations 24/7.

I though all LH ticketing desks can do so.
If I needed a paper tix (say if there is a US segment in there), they offered
me to collect it from any tix desk I wanted.
But the 48 hours advance does still hold, doesn't it?

Any LH ticketing counter can do it, meaning any airport LH is flying to, as they need a ticketing place anyway for posisble changes.

Just had one not only issued but also booked at JNB ... very helpful !

I thought that might be the case. Unfortunately in this case I leave from an airport LH (or any LH group airlines) doesn't serve. I'll work on plan B.
