All LH A330 will lose F cabin: MUC in Winter 2016/17, FRA starting Summer 2018
LH is starting to retrofit half their A330 fleet without the F cabin, starting with in D-AIKJ in July 2016. At first they will use them in FRA to swap with A343 aircraft, then they move to MUC and switch a number of destinations to C/E/Y service. This will come together with the introduction of the A359 ex MUC, which also only has a C/E/Y config.
First 'no F' destinations have been loaded into the GDS: http://airlineroute.net/2016/04/23/lh-muclh-16h2/

I guess that revenue from F must be declining.
Great effort to re-configure the fleet to new F and then rip F out two years later
If only MUC is affected as of right now, why did LH bother to build a big ne F lounge in T2S (yes, HON, I know...)?
But haven't we seen this before? I remember traveling on a 346 MUC-DEL in 2005 with no F. A couple of years later F was back...
Does anybody know if the 4 seat F configure that SQ has introduced on some 77W aircraft make sense from a commercial perspective? Wouldn't that have been an option for the LH 330 fleet?

Not surprised about Denver but ORD and IAD??
At least we'll get one DEN-MUC First flight before the switch... the inaugural DEN-MUC flight in a couple of weeks.
We're already transitioning to AF La Premiere for a lot of European trips but still sad to see the demise of LH First.

So LH F proved to be an overkill on routes where the competition is mostly North American carriers and the homely BA.
Why does not surprise too much.
And to briefly add what OPMs always post when coach shrinks even further: if you want to fly F, pay for F ... and accept some impossible and cryptic routing and transfer times.
